If I were a black man and someone called me a black man, I probably wouldn’t be offended, but it would still be racist.
Thats the same for Brazilian Dozer.
he is giving me certain adjectives, pointing out that I am Brazilian as a sign of demerit, which in itself is already racism by definition of prejudice against an ethnic group.
Do not start your answer with a proposition, so no. That’s deflecting. But I’ll entertain your answer.
No? I call my girlfriend, who is black, black, and her family, who is also black, black. That’s not racist at all. They’re black.
Why do you assume he’s using “Brazilian” as a sign of demerit? This sounds like a wild misinterpretation. Pointing out that you are Brazilian and assigning or associating that fact to a character people who frequent here know (and dislike) is not racist. It’s simply separating you from the original Dozer.
Seeking you? You posted in a public forum crying racism, despite the lack of racism and several people informing you of such. Why do you even want to be around racism so much? If it offends you thusly, shouldn’t you just leave?
But I digress, I’m not the one thanking people for “information” of their personal lives. Creep.
I think the misunderstanding here is that the Brazilian adjective is not the sign of demerit.
The word “Dozer” which colloquially means “idiot” around here was the actual sign of demerit, Brazilian as an adjective was just to differentiate you from him specifically.
Was the modifier necessary? No. But I wouldn’t really call it inflammatory or discriminatory.
If there was some popular new ret streamer and someone called him white/black/Ecuadorian/Cuban/whatever savix, is that racist?
The point being “hey, this dude is like savix, but ethnically different so let’s use the ethnic modifier to indicate the difference”
rac·ism the belief that different races possess distinct characteristics, abilities, or qualities, especially so as to distinguish them as inferior or superior to one another.
Tell me, he was differentiating me being superior or inferior? regardless
Because you came here and started stinking up a storm and then people called you out on it - which is what Dozer does - then you screamed racism.
They call themselves black, what do you expect me to call them? They’re not African, they’re from Belize, so I can’t call them African-American. That’s wrong, and even they would correct me on that by saying “We’re black”. I’ve literally asked them this.
Because there’s none to be found.
Perhaps the truest thing you’ve said, actually, yes, you’re correct.
if you can’t even get the cognition to understand that labeling a black person as black is racism, we definitely won’t make any progress in this argument
