After reviewing another set of disappointing class changes, I, like many other Death Knight mains, am frustrated to say the least. The Death Knight class, especially Unholy, has suffered for a while. The gameplay is stale, the toolkit and utility is forgotten, the class is consistently band-aided instead of fixing the issues at the core, and the class fantasy is unrealized. However, I feel like I have come up with a solution to many of the problems that have been plaguing Death Knights for years; I have made complete rebuilds of the main DK and Unholy trees.
I have played Death Knight since Wrath and have watched the class grow and change, and it be the victim of tone-deaf responses to its core issues. I did my best with the resources I had, as it is quite difficult to create a custom talent tree, but the goal was to fix the class and spec and bring it to flavortown.
It should also be considered that I have no formal way to actually test builds, so the numbers are flexible and they just highlight where the direction is going. Feedback is welcome, but this is a general idea of some things I think the Death Knights would love to see. Keep in mind this isn’t a whole “OMG IT NEEDS TO BE LIKE THIS.” It’s just a compilation of some creative ideas I had that would spice things up and fix some core issues.
