I had this issue too. I first started noticing it when I was in denial about needing glasses. My eyes are constantly strained. I feel fatigue, dizzy, and ill at times. But at the time I didn’t know what it was.
Countless family events I missed, and was playing a game of process of elimination. I finally noticed what the problem was after thinking I was hungry I put on my driving glasses and as I drove, it felt much better.
So I went back to watching TV and eye strain returned. Put on my glasses and poof they went away again.
As Ive dealt with this problem over the years after getting glasses, I started to develop more eye strain. I knew it was prescription related, but I couldn’t figure out what was going on.
After going back to my optometrist and double checking my prescription, she said everything was just fine.
I tried to deal with it for another week, and finally gave up and made another appointment with her. I told her that I knew that it was pinpointed to my prescription in the strength of it.
She did a deep exam with a special machine and it turns out my native vision didn’t need such a strong prescription. What my brain was telling me was clear in the initial exams was too clear. Instead of straining to see clear, my eyes restraining to be less clear closer to my native vision.
So I gave up and took my glasses off, completely adjusted the distance between my chair and my gaming monitor and turns out it all went away.
Well, I do still use glasses to drive into watch movies at the theater, I don’t use them to game anymore.
Deep eye exam is going to be your best bet to see your native vision. Drink plenty of water while you game dehydration leads to muscle tightness including your eyes practice the 20-20-20 rule. Every 20 minutes stare at something 20 feet away for 20 straight seconds get up away from your desk every hour and physically go get something to drink all these things are gonna help.
The last thing and the most valuable thing is, there is an application you can put on your computer, the blocks blue light. It’s called. F.lux.
Or you can just wear gaming glasses. I wear gaming glasses when I stare at my phone for a prolonged period of time. I use the application when I came on my computer.
I hope this long winded response helps you, there’s hope.
