So those who got EA practically did the thing of the title. Spend $50, level from N-80. To be fair, Radiant Echoes was a far better DIY that was quick and free to 70.
So now, because of oh-so-hard the leveling is now, you have to spend a similar separate price to get to 80, except you get some more bang for you buck. That’s how the works, that the “poor people” now have to buy max level boosts to catch up with the rich people. Yet there’s a hysteresis pattern too. The Point-Oners’ Club, who will start next March, will arrive where the EA Club is at an exponential rate, particularly as they may buy TWW at a reduced “spring sale” price.
It was never about seeing the content days before anyone else. There’s people on Steam who play games years and years old after those who played them earlier has forever/“forever” moved on. It was about being ahead and well-advanced of others, which only lasts for long until the dual physical and effected nature of the state is joined together at the same point in time.
But without dee-dee-dee’s, Blizzard would have to play a smarter marketing game. How have the level boost sales fared so far this week? Sadly, it’s the base price of the expansion + $60 for one toon, $100 for two. Not to mention we’re talking about overcoming the “hardest” part of the game: 70-80 content.
By the way, if anyone wants in at the Point-Oners’ Club, just mail in your one-time charge of six months and ~$35 and while that’s processing, you’ll get a temporary membership card. There’s also a VIP membership upgrade called the Point-One-Point-Fivers that requires more waiting, but it’s worth it!
If you really can’t spend the time to lvl to max lvl, idk what to tell ya. You have two weeks to get to max lvl. You’re not missing anything. I got loads of valourstones and crests just from lvling.
They will “have to” after this weeks’ recent development. But Blizzard, not content with punishing the poor people, can still resell the solution to them…
That’s it’s “not too late” to be 80 right-here-right-now with all the rich EA people.
No, but in last endgame DF gear, it was PDQ enough. Now, all the poor people, especially those who have been out of pocket from DF, will suffer greatly. But they can spend $60, 100 for boosts…
I know you’re trolling and trying to make something out of nothing, but im bored so ill go with it.
Was the change done at bad timing? Absolutely. The only good time would have been Beta.
That being said, you’ve had the option to buy a boost for how many years now? Didnt want to level 100 levels just to get to legion, buy a boost.
Last thing, dont buy a boost if you don’t have the money. I’ve leveled a character from 70-80 since the “leveling patch” and it wasnt much slower (I also didn’t spam dungeons cause thats boring as all get out).
You almost missed the point entirely. Leveling has always been a joke since the days Moses wore short pants. It’s never been hard. But this was a marketing gimmick. You missed out on the true (DIY) powerleveling advantage by being too poor to buy EA. That’s FOMO, my guy. So now, it’s $60 if you want to join the rich people this week and not be valuable days behind.
It’s still not $60 if you just… level like a normal person who doesn’t want to/have the cash to do it, but you dont want to hear that.
Also, implying that being able to purchase something for an extra $40 dollars makes you rich… is kinda… weird. We pay $15 a month just to access the game.
I think it’s a bit offensive to call people who didn’t buy the Epic version “poor people.” Lots of people didn’t buy the epic version for a variety of reasons. I don’t tend to buy the epic version since I really only want the hearthstone that you can buy separately later. Having EA was nice. That’s what persuaded me to get it. Plus, it was available on the weekend. I work FT, so it gave me an opportunity to lvl while I had the time.
Calling people too poor to afford something is classist and quite disgusting behaviour. You do not know people’s situations.
If you think this game caters to normal people, you’re wrong. Why can’t an expansion come out when it comes out with no in-game shop and just be, you know, a NORMAL online game? We’re not going to talk normal when there’s nothing normal about it, because I remember what normal is supposed to be.
Normal used to be the traditional box sales and even the collector’s editions that don’t quite exist anymore(or do they?). Normal was that you couldn’t buy your way ahead of others, unless it’s goldsellers. Methinks you don’t want to hear about all this either, but this was in theory a happier, simpler time for all of us here in the community.
I was actually parroting the popular argument point. That’s what it is defined by the popular culture at this time.
It’s not that I don’t want to hear about it, it’s that we both know you’re not going to accept reality.
This was phased out years ago in almost every MMORPG to date. Times change.
These are the only ones that still exist to my knowledge.
You always could, but in a different way. I.E buying runs for Gold has been around since… TBC or WoTLK. Basically, most of the games life.
Depends. Whenever you got to the point that someone else being ahead of you was an issue, is when the happier and simpler times went away.
I still believe the timing was terrible and that it absolutely does look like preferential treatment because of it. Regardless, it had to be done and there is no time anyone would be happy since in the end, EA would have a 4 day headstart regardless.
The last thing I’ll touch on.
You remember what used to be normal a long time ago. It sounds like you’re stuck in the past reminiscing of the good times instead of accepting that things can and will change. As they have over the years already. You won’t like every change, neither will I. The game will go on regardless.
We’re all copium addicts, aren’t we? How you cope doesn’t have to be the same way I cope. Yet you argue the normal way, but it is the old normal way that like you said, “times changed” and it’s not the new normal way. That’s why I blasted you with a lot of old normal talk lol, because that was your rather-antiquated proposal to the subject matter.
It used to be you were rich if you had the pandaren pet and the Lil’ KT. It used to be you were rich if you had the Celestial Steed. But these were mostly cosmetic. We must have all thought it was innocent enough, until it came to this. I can still remember how bad it got that during SL, you had to buy carries to get the best gear if you were a bad.
But I believe that time, the one currency you don’t get back once spent, is an equalizer of sorts…
