Divine Steed problems and why PvP Paladins are frustrated about it

  1. Divine Steed has 3 talents in the class tree, meaning paladins have to spend 3 talents to maximize Divine Steed. Divine Steed itself, Cavalier, and Seasoned Warhorse. This feels really bad because that is a lot of talents to spend on 1 mobility spell and it still leaves paladin players wanting it to do a bit more than it does which feels even worse as it feels like those talents are not accomplishing enough.

  2. In PvP, Divine Steed has no slow protection so it gets slowed instantly both by passive and active slows meaning you have to combine Blessing of Freedom with it to get any movement from Steed, losing both of our only mobility buttons in one go. This feels very bad and has felt bad for a long time.

  • Something like Steed of Glory would be nice to see as a choice node with Unbound Freedom to help this issue as it does not feel good to lose both mobility buttons because steed is countered passively. Plenty of solutions, but it really needs something.
  1. The Hero talent for Divine Steed (Unrelenting Charger) is largely pve focused as it gives extra duration and increased movement speed for the first 3 seconds, neither of which help in PvP much. With all of the mobility creep coming in with Hero talents, it would be good to have a little bit more regarding Steed.

You said it brother. Way too many talent points spent for mobility that fails to funtion without also casting as needed BoP, Bubble, cc removal trinket, or BoF. If we wanted to be slowed, snared, feared, mind controlled, or knocked back, we wouldnt have bothered pressing Steed. I dont expect Steed to remove and suppress ALL CC, but slows and snares YES.

Also…why am I being feared by casters with Blessing of Spellwarding active?

DK enjoyers get a Class stun removal/prevention button like BoP on a lower CD and a fear/charm removal/prevention button like Bubble on a lower CD without either applying Forbearance, and now have a better Steed than Paladin with a lower CD, and Wrath Walk. Meanwhile Paladin does not have 3 grips or an effective spamable slow.
Show paladins a little love too.

Having a useful steed be 1 talent point instead of 3 would be cool and/or, better yet, make it a choice node and also offer Wings of Liberty as an option. For pvp, leaps, charges, dashes, teliports, blinks, Shadow Steps, and dropping combat and going invisable are all way more effective than Steed as they function while slowed.
