Divine protection on prot pally

I’ve searched google and even asked in trade, which was a mistake, but I decided to come here for an answer. I’m recently returning to the game and I decided to start a new paladin. To make this short, I learned divine protection in prot spec but when I log onto my 101 prot paladin I can’t find the spell anywhere. From my understanding it is not a prot spell. So is my lvl 34 paladin bugged or is my 101 paladin bugged?

Classic wow and Retail ( BFA) is Different. In classic you learn Divine Protection Aka Bubble. But in BFA the Same Spell Name is Divine Shield. Bubble is Universal for All three spec of Paladin. Go to your Spell Book and Search Divine Shield in BFA.

I have both. Divine protection is a spell that reduces damage by 20% and is on a 1 minute cooldown. I can see it in my holy tree on my 101 paladin, but can use it as prot on my lvl 34.

In BFA, Divine Protection is a low “rank” spell. It gets “upgraded” into Ardent Defender at later levels.

Divine Protection is only available in Holy Spec in Retail. Don’t know why your are seeing it in prot spec. There is no spell called divine protection in Prot Spec.

It’s divine protection at lower levels with the old icon and visual effect. It disappears after a certain level (I forget which) to be replaced by Ardent Defender in the Prot spell book.

Seems a little odd to me as other that the cheat death addition, it is a downgrade rather than upgrade as the CD basically doubles.

you get divine protection as prot at low lvl but once you learn argent defender it replaces divine protection similar to how shield of vengeance replaces it for ret if i recall correctly; its been a while since i level up another pally.
