I flew around for an hour last night on my alt, didn’t find a single one. I have shovels, I have renown…but I am not able to get the Digging for Treasure quest. What am I missing here? I checked with my main and I was able to find one with him.

Yes I have Warmode on…I was looking for them in hopes that I would collect some extra sparks that way. It would be nice to successfully find one at least so I knew this was working and that I wasn’t looking for something that doesn’t exist.
Ya in that case it’s because everyone is looting em sadly, wait a day or two for it to calm down an you can go loot crazy.
These seem to respawn all at the same time every several hours. Unfortunately this also makes it easy for a handful of players to farm them all at once on specific routes. Tuesdays are always the worst days because everyone is out looking for them.

Not sure if it’s the way they respawn or just a superstition I’ve developed, but when there seem to be none around, I tend to find a bunch of them hidden in some corner of the map people aren’t visiting.
Check that alt’s reputation. I think you can start digging at a certain reputation with the Expedition. Check those renown rewards. I could have sworn that is a rep level to ‘unlock’ that ability.
I’m at level 6 I believe.
Hm. That should be enough, as I think they unlock at Renown 5 ‘buried treasure’.

The Spark zones are always tough to find dirt piles in because people are searching for the dirt to finish the WPvP quest as quickly and cleanly as possible.

It works, i 100% guarantee you that dirt mounds in warmode give 5 sparks of life each, as do adventurers satchel treasures
Just really hard to find spawns on populated layers that share with major warmode servers like tich/illidan/stormrage/sargeras during prime time
Easiest way is to layer hop to a roleplay layer in warmode since those don’t layer with non rp servers
I just queue for arenas/bgs while flying around and hope to zone back out on an empty or fresh layer 
You shouldnt need anything on alts except shovels, my alts that havent even completed the intro to dragon island quest and are still being asked to take boat from stormwind to df are digging the mounds for sparks just fine 
the most annoying part is getting the dragonisle supplies to purchase the shovels
Confirmed, I logged on yesterday at 6:30 EST and found 10 of them rapidly. Not sure why I was having such a hard time the day before, if something hadn’t synced up, or if it was just because they were in such high demand on the first day after reset.

i agree dirt disturbs me.
buy the shovels off the AH? 20 charges instead of 5.
Are they on ah? That’s neat, i just assumed they had to be crafter’s ordered/BoP like half the profession items lol
They have a vendor price of 25gp which makes them expensive to list on the AH. I’m a bit surprised I don’t see more work orders posted for them, but I guess it falls into that “more hassle than it’s worth” ditch.
