I am guessing it is an option I accidentally changed or maybe it was changed during the patch update but my dirt piles used to be highlighted in a purple aura while flying around now they are basically white outline much harder to see.
Not in a place I can check it rn, but the two settings you want to look under are:
Gameplay > Interface > Display > Outline Mode (Quest Objectives and Mouseover)
and
System > Graphics > Graphics Quality > Outline Mode (Good or higher)
I think if the System setting is Low then it’ll stop using the purple outline, but I could be misremembering.

This setting should highlight things in Purple:
I only know this as mine suddenly went to “sparkle mode”. For Siren Isle it’s a lot easier for me to see the chests when they have that purple highlight.

And when it is disabled we get this, sparkles
If this is disabled, then the outline mode does indeed go away and we get sparkles. Just checked.

That’s it thanks I remember now that you have to click both outline settings, one for unchecked somehow now it’s all good
