My character got two dishonorable kills and now it feels impossible to rank up. I initially got demoted in phase 1 because of this, then got to rank 3 in phase 2. Two weeks ago farmed 16K honor, and last week farmed 32K honor. I am still rank 3 and ~75% instead of rank 5. This seems excessively punishing and frankly unplayable getting punished every week for accidentally killing a quest mob. Farming 5 weeks for the honor I could normally do in 1 feels absolutely ridiculous and completely unfair. This phase is going to be over before I hit max rank if having the Dishonorable kill really continuously punishes you. Please confirm this is working as intended and not in fact a bug.

Are you using an addon to track your progress like “ranker”? Because it seems to me like you haven’t earned enough honor in a single week to progress to rank 4 or 5. And dishonorable kills are detrimental and best avoided at all costs.

Ranker indicated 45k to rank 5. I accumulated more than that over two weeks, and I’m still rank 3. That’s my issue, the impact of the dishonorable kills is literally setting me 3 weeks behind rather than just 1 week where I lost a rank on phase 1.
3 to 5 is 45k in a single week cant play 5k for 9 weeks and then be 5. Not how that works.

DHK’s only affect your current rank, not next weeks.
You can’t accumulate some honor and have it roll over into the next week. It needs to all be done in 1 week in order to rank up.
You didn’t hit the threshold for your rank to stick, nothing to do with DHKs. DHKs will instantly derank you but have no affect on the future.

I think you misunderstand how ranker works. That 45k is a threshold required to get the rank points to reach the desired rank you want in one week. That is not how many honor points you need over N weeks. If you don’t reach the breakpoint, you basically get no rank points.
Honor has break points depending on your current rank to get a set amount of rank points. Rank points are what increases your pvp rank, not honor. You’re not meeting the minimum amount of honor to get rank points, so you’re not ranking up.
