Hello returning player here. Last I played was shadowlands. I bought the new expac 4 days ago and started a new toon. I picked Enchanting. I’ve been running dungeons and questing and when I go to disenchant items, I denied with text saying item is not valid! These are random greens from questing and blues from dungeons. I don’t understand what I am missing. Can anyone explain?
I would venture that you need to get the enchanting profession for the content you are doing, different exp content, different disenchanting. But that is just a guess.

Which Xpac are you playing through?
I am also having this problem. I am leveling a fresh toon in Dragonflight with Chromie Time, and am unable to disenchant any quest rewards or drops.
I definitely have learned dragonflight enchanting already, have disabled all addons, and even done a full UI reset. I can dienchant gear from other Xpacs, just not dragonflight.
