So, I don’t know if this is for all legacy raids, but I don’t think the appearance collection on all classes things works properly with certain items.
To clarify: I’m running all mythics and sometimes get some drops that go to the normal set. It says “added to collection” but doesn’t show up as known in the tab. Relogging doesn’t fix it either. I think this might be a glitch or oversight that Blizz hasn’t seen or fixed.
Further, that makes me believe this is if I go in the raid as normal and get the appearances they show up and everything. So maybe a conflict of raid difficulty setting and the “get sets on any class” code.

which raid specifically is giving you this error?
I have been running all Legion raids since TWW launch and haven’t seen this. I have seen other big problems with legacy, but not this.

like, for example, I got the normal set Lock hands from the spider boss (Or maybe it was second dragon boss? One of them) in Emerald Nightmare it said it was added, but looking in collections, it isn’t shown as such.
Or with other pieces in Nighthold, Tomb, etc.
Again, all of the Mythic sets work just fine. It’s just when i get the rare normal piece as a drop it says it gets added but doesn’t show as such. Setting the raid to normal and going in works just fine though.
And this is on all characters as well.
From what I know as long as the item shows the 2 hours free trading it’s not saved across characters. Equip it or vendor it should learn the transmog. Although that last one won’t work if the item comes from a vendor, then you have to wait 2 hours.
