Discord/WoW mic/volume levels

No one can hear me in discord once any sort of in-game noise is happening. I’ve went through all menu options etc. It’s not my equipment, I’ve gotta new headset/mic. I’ve went through in-game menus, comp menus, levels, etc, everything.

I’ve googled/tried every solution I can find, but nothing yet.

Someone save me.

Do you mean your wow sounds are so overpowering nobody can hear you scream? I mean talk? If that’s the case lower wows volume or up your output volume in discord.

Otherwise I would go into discord and wow settings and make sure your default input/output devices are set properly eg your discord output should be your microphone/headset and it may well be your inbound too depending on your setup.

Can you still hear people though?

Another idea is to turn off the overlay feature in discord it’s known to cause issues with wow.

Last thing I would say is, your not running any of these as admin are you? It may take control of the sound if you do.

I’ve went through all that… and all the “google-able” answers… I can hear everyone fine. I’ve even went as far as turning all the in-game sounds off… still happens.

Does the Discord mic issue happen when World of WarCraft is opened? It sounds like it’s probably taking control over the Microphone. Could you try all 3 steps on this article here?

I have tried 2 of those 3 through my google surfing, but once I log on again, I will try the third option. Thank you!

I’m personally trying to work with him and we’ve tried all those options out.

Now when we left click his sound icon and turn the blue slider down and his in game volume under settings down we can hear his mic.

Anytime the game gets too loud his mic mutes.

Please helpppp. lol

That’s a very weird issue where the blue slide is going down automatically it seems. It sounds like Windows is adjusting the sound and mic volumes. Could you double check in the Sound settings? Right click on the Sound Icon > Sounds. You should see Playback, Recording, Sounds, Communications tabs, under Communications set it to “Do Nothing.”

As an update, no success in following those.

When I go into the “mixer”… the problem goes away when I turn off WoW audio… don’t know if that helps

I have tried the “do nothing” also. I’ve tried all the options there (reduced by 50%, etc)

There’s gotta be something so stupid I’m missing lol.

Thanks, Fightclub! I’m honestly pretty perplexed by this myself with the weird audio behavior. The only other suggestions I have is to check for third party applications and try closing down any that might conflict like Nahimic, Sonic Studio are a few that may mess with audio a bit. Maybe also updating the sound drivers just for some basics! If that fails, could you contact us directly?

I do feel like we are probably missing a small minor detail and I’d like us to work on this individually and see if we can figure out what’s happening with the volume mixer and the oddness with the audio

I’d love to contact directly. May be tomorrow evening or so.

Will try a few things, including the link you added. Hopefully I get this worked out… I must hear all the gloriousness!!

Lol, thank you for your help in this matter! HNY
