So out of nowhere a couple months ago, voice functions in discord started cutting completely in and out while playing (specifically TBC Classic). Usually it only lasts a few minutes, sometimes longer. Typically during high stress points such as a boss fight and voice often even resumes immediately when a boss is killed.
But during such time I can’t hear anyone and I can’t use my mic though I can still hear people entering and leaving the channel.
The discord email support people are as completely dumbfounded as I am and digging deeper into the issue is starting to imply that it’s WoW causing it, not discord.
I run Avast and nothing is being blocked. And it’s not as though voice NEVER works, it just seems to come and go.
Anything interesting happening in Sound.log or Voice.log ?
You’ll find them in the Logs folder inside the _retail _ folder of your Wow folder.
I don’t even know what to look for, I can’t make heads or tails of it. I don’t even play retail.
Oh sorry. The ones from the Logs folder of the Classic version.
Can you post the contents of them ?

Hmm. When was the last time you logged out of Classic ?
And does that match up with the time of the “Transport disconnected” message?
Or does it match up with when you last experienced the issue ?
That would be when I closed the game early this morning
What the only thing I can see in that log is it disconnecting but that could be due to your shutting down the game so the log isn’t that useful.
Let’s try switching the microphone to none for Battle.net voice options.
This can be accomplished in the Settings of the Battle.net desktop app → Blue Battle.net logo → Right Click → Settings → Voice Chat . Then switch Input Device to None.
Then try testing it.
