Discord Sucks!

I have been playing the game since day 1. Discord as f’d me over more than anything in this game. Everytime i join a pug or guild group it crashes on me and i have to re install o reboot to get back into the game. I have an op PC so its not the hardware. Out of nowhere in groups it decides to mute sound and mics.

I wish I could find a fix, but every time i do its a test when I am in a group and fail

Have you contacted discord or reported it?

Do you have a mic that you don’t bother using? Most discord servers shove you in an afk channel if you do that,.

What if he doesn’t have a phone? We know how WoW players are about owning phones.

I love how one person has an issue while others don’t and suddenly it’s all the app’s fault and the app sucks and has screwed them over. :woman_facepalming:

As others have said, get in touch with Discord support, use the phone app or use the browser.

Your computer being “OP” is meaningless if there’s a permission issue, a problem with the audio settings and connections, etc. There’s lots of support articles and stuff that should be able to help.

  • If Discord Crashes for you, then it is a software issue, not a hardware issue.
  • If you think your PC is OP, may way to think that again. I had a really bad computer and yet, never had any issues with discord.

Are you sure you have enough RAM?

No matter how high-spec and OP your PC is, stuff like Discord can crash your PC if you don’t have enough RAM space.

The discord app has always been super solid for me. I have heard of folks having issues with the web browser version but never the app.

discord has overlap too and does cause some video crash problems when you have stuff like youtube and wow running at the same time and open discord.

If you have a 1440p+ monitor discord will lag like hell in full screen.

Turning on hardware acceleration should fix this though so make sure you have it on.

Which is why the OP needs to look into Discord support and do some troubleshooting instead of ranting about it in WoW GD.

ha, sorry for the rant, i have checked there support several times, had to delete files and reinstall. The problem is that its hard to recreate the issue only way to test it is when im in middle of a raid, then it takes 30 minutes to restart, reinstall etc… It’s just frustrating as hell and its the go to program for wow.

Zero problems with Discord after using it pretty much daily for the better part of two expansions (maybe more?).

I wish people would start using the in game VoIP. It works fine now a days and Discord is just unnecessary system overhead and I’m always leery about how free services make their money. Privacy wise, probably worse than the AXS app.

Yes, in-game voice works just fine, but some people prefer Discord.
