Discord Overlay causing Fatal Error in World of Warcraft

Pretty much an FYI because I’ve never gotten a Blizzard Response to a technical support inquiry…

However, currently the Discord Overlay can cause a fatal error in World of Warcraft. The workaround is to turn this overlay off in Discord.

This is from the crash.txt that WoW creates when it dies on startup -

<Exception.HashBlock:> DBG-OPTIONS<NoImage NoAddress NoFileLine NoFuncOffset NoDbgAddr> ERROR #132 DBG-ADDR<00007ffc10b2a9b1>("DiscordHook64.dll") DBG-ADDR<00007ffc10b3ce78>("DiscordHook64.dll") DBG-ADDR<00007ffc10b3cdfe>("DiscordHook64.dll") DBG-ADDR<00007ffc10bf9418>("DiscordHook64.dll") DBG-ADDR<00007ffc10c03332>("DiscordHook64.dll") DBG-ADDR<00007ffc10bb88c9>("DiscordHook64.dll") DBG-OPTIONS<> <:Exception.HashBlock>

Will keep the entire file and can email it if someone actually wants to look at it. Though, I have been submitting the in-game crash reports on this for weeks and no one has contacted me.

They won’t contact you.

This is considered a discord or overlay issue. Standard troubleshooting here is to disable all overlays.

I know they won’t contact. I’ve never had any feedback regarding support tickets that I have submitted.

You do understand that a crash report and a support ticket are two different things, right?

Yes I do… I stand by what I have said. I have done both.

Submitting a support ticket will always result in a response. You can view your history of tickets and their responses via the support tab on this website. The most common reasons not to receive a response are that you opened a live chat, which only proceeds to a chat and does not open a ticket, or if you submitted a bug report, which never receive responses. You should be following the technical support branch when opening your ticket.
