Im not sure if this is a bug or a technical issue but Ive had a number of disconnects related to flying. For example, when on the ground, I get attacked and use the space bar to lift off, and bang, disconnected. Or turning suddenly, either camera view or physically, while flying. This has only been happening over about the last 2-3 weeks.
As I say, Im not sure if its a game bug or a technical issue of some sort.
Post a dxdiag and a winmtr so that a diagnosis can be done.
I have the same issue. I particularly notice it on my druids because I’m doing quests or picking flowers in flight form, grab the item, fly up, get attacked on the way, it’s almost always an instant disconnect. It’s not just druids though, I also have had it happen on any toon flying that gets attacked and tries to fly back up quickly to get out of aggro. Haven’t noticed it with turning but I’m probably just a slow turner.
I starting experiencing this in ZM, specifically on the quest Stomp It Now, which can be cheesed by activating the portals while off the ground, and then flying straight up to get away from the spawns. I didn’t test it thoroughly but I feel like it only happened when flying straight up (ie. all space bar) and not if there was some forwards element.
To rule out that it is caused by being in combat though, it just happened to me after a boss fight, no combat, looted, mounted, and took off straight up due to the local terrain - and pop a DC.
I agree its almost always on a spacebar launch. The attack thing may simply be coincidental but the spacebarr launch dc is definately a thing. It doesnt happen every time but its often enough to be annoying.
My druid is getting a lot of disconnects lately. Two this evening, one when charmed off the mage tower in Ashran. It was kind of funny, because I figured I’d be in the graveyard when I relogged. Instead, I was a floating cat in the air, unharmed.
Second DC was in Zereth Mortis. Zooming into Firim’s cave in bird form, shifted to cat to make a softer landing, and…computer sez no.
It feels like suddenly going up or down makes the game think you’re doing something dodgy.
This doesn’t bode well for the next expansion’s dragonflight swooshiness… 
One my own thoughts/concerns, along with all the other concerns regarding dragon riding. It just seems it will be something their QC needs to work on very diligently.
same, on a druid it happens but it’s been happing more and more in general on other char. it’s so mad buggy
I’m having the same problem with part 6 of the main quest line which has to do with flying as well.
Problem seemed to have fixed its self. I did however /reload before i hopped on. /shrug
