Not sure if I should do a bug report, but for a long time (months, at least), whenever I attempt to hearth to my garrison, I get disconnected. Then I reconnect, hearth again, and I’m fine for a while. But then when I log off (say, for the night, or for a few days) and come back, if I want to hearth back, I get disconnected again. Login, re-hearth, I’m good. And this cycle continues.
Is this an issue that has been addressed? Should I submit a ticket for it?
I don’t know what factors may be contributing to this, but personally I don’t have any issues with it and I use my garrison hearthstone often on both my Alliance and Horde main toons.
I lost mine. Not sure when or how, but don’t know how to get it back. I’d be very interested in the response you get. umm The response that doesn’t tell you how many sites to visit before bothering them again. Probably about 4 or 5 replies later.
Good luck, (not sarcastic)
Oh- interesting. I’ll have to check give it all a read when I get home tonight. It’s also interesting that they’ve know about it for so long and haven’t done anything to fix the issue. Thanks for the read!
I’ll save this and if I ever hear back from them and if they offer any helpful advice, I’ll keep you updated.
The server has to spin up a new shard to host one’s garrison and the shard isn’t finished booting by the time the hearthstone cast finishes, so when the game tries to teleport you there it fails and crashes the game. When you log back in and try to hearth again, the shard is booted fully so it works fine. When you log off for a while, the server sees there’s nobody in Shadowmoon/Frostfire and shuts down the shard.
This didn’t happen (at least not frequently) back while WoD was current because there were always enough players in Shadowmoon and Frostfire to ensure that a shard for hosting your garrison was always already running, but as expansions have piled on and Draenor was turned into sleepy leveling content that ceased to be true.
In short, Blizz have themselves a race condition to fix.
That would make sense. I never had this issue until I started going back to my garrison a few months back (this past fall, I think?). I was so disgusted with WoD I pretty much left I abandoned for years But anyway, yeah, it’s not an issue I remember having in the past, only recently when I started going back again.
Hmm, hadn’t heard of this one. I have garrison hearth on around 20 characters and have garrison set up at various stages on most of them. I got a whole checklist of stuff I do when I roll a char to get a ton of teleports. Never once had it happen. Wonder why it can persist for years for some people and never ever happen to another even if they do it 5000 times a year.
So I had this problem on my old computer but not my new one. Only real difference aside from graphics card is i finally put wow on a ssd instead of a regular hard drive.
