It’s been a while since I wanted to start playing WoW for good and leave the Starter Edition but when I finally decide to do it I’m unable to do it, I’m getting disconnected with the error WOW51900319 every 10 minutes.
I’ve searched on the forums and on the internet and tried pretty much everything I found:
Flush and Renew DNS;
Reset User Interface;
Open the game from WoW.exe not BattleNet;
Check the option “Close battlenet completely” when launching a game;
Uncheck “Optimize Network for speed” inside the game;
Create firewall inbound rules for the ports that WoW uses;
Playing the game on wired connection not WiFi;
BNet Scan & Repair;
And finally, reinstalling the game…
Nothing worked so far and I don’t know what else to do, on top of that, every time I tried to post this issue on the “Portuguese” WoW forums it didn’t let me do it only resulting in an Error404 page and nothing showing up on “Recent topics” section on my profile.
Can someone please help me address this issue? I still really want to play the game but not if this keeps happening…
Are you disconnecting every 10 minutes on the dot or is it just within 10 minute? To look into this we’ll want to get a WinMTR test ran. When posting those results you’ll want to format it by encasing it in a set of ~~~ like so:

If you have any programs such as SmartByte or Killer Network installed, be sure to let us know.
Thanks a lot for the help, I tried pretty much everything on that list already except “Step 6 - Close all other applications”, where I deactivated a bunch of services/programs on startup with msiconfig, and “Step 3 - Disable Proxies” from Advanced troubleshooting (despite having no proxy set up, I did uncheck an option there).
At first it didn’t really work but then I realized that “Optimize Network for Speed” was active again in the game’s options so I turned that off and I think something might’ve fixed it for now… I had the game’s stopwatch running and I managed to stay logged in for more than 35 minutes!
I’m not sure if it was 10 minutes exactly but I’ll try to time it next time I log in, as I mentioned above, something might’ve worked for now. I’ll keep testing to see if it’s fixed and will perform the WinMTR test once I log back in later today.
Oh and I don’t have any of the programs you mentioned.
Thanks for the help!!
Latency on your first 2 hops is much higher than would be normally expected. On the first hop we expect your highest latency to be 1-4, almost always under 10, and yours is 136.
Have your powercycled your modem and router?
Are you wired or wireless?
Have your tried changing bands if you are wireless?
Also, your latency spikes to 525 on one of your first isp hops.
Try the stuff above, and if that doesn’t work, it may be time to call your ISP.
Ya this was happening a few months ago also. Cant remember what the fix was though. Ended up being a conflict with direct x12, or something, if remembering correctly. Ended up having to revert back to 11. Cant remember how to do it. maybe Zhyxen can post a link to that fix. For me, I can usually play around 10 minutes then disconnect.
With the Battle.net desktop app opened and WoW selected click on Options
Select Game Settings
Find WoW and check the box for Additional command line arguments
In the new box enter the command for the desired DirectX version:
-d3d11legacy
-d3d11
-d3d12
Click Done to save.
Well, I tested again and still get disconnected a once or twice but then it starts working fine and I get no errors. Here’s the WinMTR for a test when I got disconnected with that error:
If I understood this correctly latency seems pretty high all across the board but I guess it’s sort of expected since both IP’s I had to test for Americas are in Central and West US for some reason… Still this 4.5k+ spike caught my attention:
Your initial hop latency is way too high. We’re expect that first hp to have 1-2 ms latency, and your winmtrs show 189 and 634. This issue starts on your home network.
This is starting on your home network. You need to get your ISP involved with fixing this issue. As stated in the post by Zungar I am in agreement with them.
