Discipline Priest PvP balance is

to be honest a little lacking. There aren’t really any buttons that are exciting and the tree itself is a complicated mess that took me a long time to figure out.

-It has improved, but the discipline tree still feels weak compared to other classes.

I’m still fighting in BGs and playing against players that just wipe the whole group and I can’t do anything about it. I can’t tell if they’re hacking or that’s just the state of the game; they wipe us so effortlessly.

In my opinion we need a spell like Spirit Shell but re-worked to shield based on the amount of damage done.
So I would spread atonement… cast spirit shell… unleash mad dps, and then start relying on flash heal to cover broken shields.
It would basically give us time to prepare for incoming damage. Which is what we don’t have right now.

What do you all think?

Spirit shell is never coming back, and that is effectively how it worked before. Spread atonements, hit spirit shell and blast. Maybe it could come back as a pvp talent if thats what people wanted, but it for sure is never coming back to pve content. It’s either a useless ability or its way to overpowered, never a middle ground.

Yeah I’m talking about PvP.

Then yeah that’s the only way I could see it coming back would be as a pvp talent. Idk how strong it was in pvp though. I’ll leave that for a more experienced pvper than I.

I dunno whaat changed but… disregard this thread. I’m taking on whole groups today… and dancing around warriors. (i have toggle run/walk bound to a mouse button so my dancing moves must be hawt)

This isn’t a Disc problem. It’s a ‘healing as a role’ problem.

Healing just isn’t powerful anymore. It’s weak in M+, it’s weak in Shuffle, it’s weak in Arena, it’s weak in BG’s.

MM Hunters, Shamans, Rets, Warlocks, Mages, etc, are going to be throwing around 200k+ crits often and as a healer you’re going to be pressing CD’s and burning through mana to crit for half that. DPS as a role is just vastly more powerful than healing as a role in PvP. I press a CD as a healer to keep 1 target alive while DPS press a CD to kill 4 target or kill 1 target 4 times over.

So what ends up happening is that DPS can get kills easily because healers cannot keep targets alive but will rack up tens of millions of healing in a BG, but it’s all pad/useless healing because everyone still dies. I can do 50 million healing in a BG and still have many deaths on my team and lose badly, even if the other team has no healer. The result is that healing feels useless.

I made Doomer posts like this last year saying that Shuffle would effectively kill 3’s. I also saw the healer balance/rating problem at the end of SL that is currently plaguing Shuffle. I think this healing problem will be the plague of SRBG’s.

Blizzard are making the Solo Queue game mode that I think is the most popular in the game and they’re making the healer to DPS ratio more favourable to help with queue time issues which are great decisions, but they’re forgetting or not seeing this huge underlying issue which is that healing as a role is just so incredibly weak that it’s unfun in BG’s.

I would love to see spirit shell come back in pve. I thought it was hella fun even as a non disc. I’ve always hated evange disc due to its super strict timing requirement. I’ve only liked playing disc with spirit shell.

Na… it’s not a problem. Healing is super fun and 1337. I was really channeling the grace of the Gods yesterday… it really is the superior way to wow. I didn’t read the rest of that comment because I usually find myself getting trolled on this forums so… way too long didn’t read. Sorry but it’s true.

I play holy in BGs and it slaps.

Yes, sometimes if the other team focus fires and a team mate does not pop a defensive it can result in deaths. But, more often than not, healing can really prop up a mediocre team.

I have to say it is really a balancing act to have specs work in BGs and arenas given the amount of DPS and healing variables.
