Was it really necessary to make atonement healing not remove stacks of grievous whatsoever? Ever since grievous wounds has been around I’ve found myself looking to DPS to run an alt that week, in rough progression content it could be seriously unmanageable. I was very excited when watching streamers CULLING stacks of grievous with radiance into smite, although I can admit that disc in early testing could handle grievous probably better than any other healer so having atonement+smite not remove it is perfectly feasible. But was it REEEAAAALLLLLYYYY necessary to make all atonement healing not remove stacks? It would be LOVELY to have our multitude of small cds get rid of a stack each on every target with atonement (schism, mind blast, SWD if running KoD and in exe range, PWSolace, mind games if venthyr, etc). It’s nice that I can penance someone to cull their stacks but EVERY other healer has methods of reliably AOE culling stacks, and I’m sure grievous is being balanced with this is mind. send help.
I was so excited when I experienced this. I was finally going to be able to heal Grevious with a disc priest and not hate my life.
Figures that would get squashed. 
I don’t think any expansion has ever made me sigh in reaction to news about it as much as this one has.
They need to give Disc a CD that hits hard like the Artifact Light’s Wrath use too. This would allow them to have a “Healing” cooldown rather than ones that just prevent damage.
I’m aware they did that nerf to SWD on the PTR. I’m more thinking along the line idea of a 1.5 - 2 min damage cooldown that would be transferred to atonement healing.
They have 2 covenants that hit hard in SL. Prob should go do some research my friend 
Atonement healing removing Grievous was obviously broken, lol.
I think Blizzard’s been pretty consistent. Few/no AoE heals remove stacks. Radiance doesn’t. Sanctify doesn’t. Prayer of Healing doesn’t. Circle of Healing doesn’t. Efflorescence doesn’t. I haven’t followed other healers all that closely, but I can only assume that Light of Dawn and Healing Rain don’t. Chain Heal or Vivify, I’m not sure of.
This CD exists. Mindgames does exactly that.
Will Mind Games trigger atonement?
It does trigger Atonement, yes.

kyrian triggers atonement too.
And the Necrolords spell also works somewhat with Atonement, although Unholy Nova has received some nerfs. I believe it only does Atonement healing for the first target, and the healing from the transfusion component might only be for the first target as well.
Night Fae doesn’t have any damage, so no Atonement. Fae Guardians is just a terrible spell for Disc in general.
I’m not on beta so I’m not 100% on how these spells work, but that’s what I’ve picked up off Discords and Twitter.
Each stack of grievous is supposed to get removed from one cast of non-periodic heals. It’s going to be kind of a joke affix to deal with now going forward. Same with Bursting.
Can you still just mass dispel bursting?
or did they revert that?
The stacks are removed yes but grievous itself isnt until obviously you heal above 90% and ive read that atonement ticks no longer do it so hard casts.
Mass dispel still does yes.
