I saw the patch notes that are coming and I was thinking why…? For a while I’ve thought Disc priests should get a cooldown that acts as a class version of a target dummy that only they can target. A 45 second to 1 minute cooldown disc priest target dummy would be a pretty strong solution for them to heal things like lingering dots or topping off players at the end of a pull or even for niche raid situations where raid bosses and adds are temporarily unavailable but dots are ticking. Press it once to spawn it in and a second time to despawn it and start the cooldown or simply make it so it can’t lock priests in combat. I’m not sure why Blizzard hasn’t thought of this already or if they had why they wouldn’t put it in the game. It seems like a fairly obvious solution but maybe it’s not idk.
Its an interesting idea. We already summon a shadowfiend type creature so it could be similar to how Demon Hunters summon a demon they can kill for a buff but for us we summon a creature only we can kill/target that lets us DPS it to proc atonement. Could also provide some other form of utility as well when it dies, maybe a burst of speed to catch back up with the group or something so we are not just behind everyone because we needed to kill this thing to top everyone off.
Maybe something to “rend the shadows from the soul of a nearby party member,” allowing you to attack the “shadow” portion of their soul. Also castable on self.
Basically an attackable shadowy apparition that follows you/your party around for ~15 seconds.
