Disc Priest Questions (Automatic Jak M+ build)

Hi! I am playing Discipline and I like that new build with the mindbender a lot. It feels like a straightforward dps with an aoe “make my dps do healing” spell which is the dream version of disc for me.

Questions: Do I press renew or shield anymore or is it okay to press them barely ever? I drop halo is this fine? Also I drop ultimate penitance for two more blaze of light talents is this ok to do for every dungeon? Also for the flash heal do I only use it when there are procs and low hp or often? Can I drop holy nova too, I don’t like that it doesn’t do mindbender cdr like smite does. Also how powerful is the tier set over the current one? Thanks!

  1. Renew or Shield answer is really it depends. You still wanna keep atonement up on the tank, and sometimes someone gets hit by 1 thing but you don’t need to burst heal them. PW:S and renew are fine for those.
  2. You can swap Uppies for Blaze of Light in dungeon and it’s fine if you don’t like playing with it. It does mean you lose a major CD (which is nice to have in a pinch or against large damage events) but it’s not a huge decrease or anything.
  3. Flash heal is decent to use for the same reason as #1, but it’s also good for the Protective Light talent in order to give yourself 10% damage reduction.
  4. You don’t have to take holy nova or rhapsody, but it’s generally worth taking them and casting holy nova once when you’re at max rhapsody stacks in dungeon. You don’t have to spam it even if you take it - it’s just very nice AoE damage with higher rhapsody stacks.
  5. Tier set is about a 20-30% damage increase over our current tier set in raid. As far as a healing increase, tbh IDK. Any number I throw out would be a guess.
