I get to 1:22 and have neither Psychic Scream or Mindbender up. And die every time.
Edit: I am now reaching five or six minutes but at this point everything seems to hit a lot harder.

I use Psychic Scream on the first Fel Burst, then Mindbender and Fade together when he has about 3-4 seconds left of casting Earthquake. Just switch between the two and you should be ok. There were a few times where he would cast Fel Burst not in his original order, just use a defensive (such as Pain Supp, PW: Barrier, Desperate Prayer).
What helped me was using macros!
The macro below is to use Mindbender and Fade together on Tugar. Again, make sure to use this when he has about 3-4 seconds left of his Earthquake.
/tar Tugar Bloodtotem
/cast Mindbender
/cast Fade
This took me about 10-15 tries. I also recommend using Shadowcore Oil for just a bit more damage. Good luck!
Thanks for the info. I just die instantly, but have not used defensives for that.
I also find it tough because you can get so much overlap to manage all at once. All these things coming in simultaneously.
That macro is great though.
Edit: After tons of tries, I sometimes literally have nothing left to beat fel burst. And PS is not enough when at full health, sigh.
It is all doable except for Fel Burst. It gets me every time, at four minutes or sooner.
Mindbender is a wonderful strat. But my successful run was without it because I ended up reaching the worm too mana starved by the end. I actually died on worm at 8% because I was oom
So I ended up using bender for dps and mana.
What I did is alternate defensives.
As he’s casting earthquake keep him in center of eggs and mind sear until they’re about half. He should still be casting earthquake. Then halo (to finish off the adds). Then here’s the key part. Right at the end of his earthquake casting you:
Mind blast (defensive 1)
Shadowmend for masochism (defensive 2)
And then any one of the defensive’s you have up (defensive 3).
I save my psychic scream for the fel burst for when the giant worm comes up.
Oh another great tip! Towards the end of the small worm phase, save your mind blast. Cast it on the giant worm as he comes out immediately. It’ll lessen the impact of sonic boom.
Mind blast was the key to surviving later fel bursts, but you have to use it with other stuff. Try to play safe. I kept tugar alive until the giant worm was 20%.
I’m getting pretty far on the encounter now but I’m having mana issues despite not even casting Shadow Mend that much at all… I think the problem is despite having semi-good Shadowlands gear on my priest, it’s still “bad” for the MT so i don’t do nearly enough damage as people using old trinkets and gear.
That does not sound good. I don’t have mana problems until the very end and that’s because shadowmend becomes a requirement for masochism.
How far are you reaching? What’s your mana by that point?
Eh, unless you’re missing secondaries your gear is 99% irrelevant. I farmed up legion gear and it didn’t give me any boon. The gems, sockets, and different trinkets I picked up helped.
But you shouldn’t do it in Shadowlands gear either way. The repair bills are not worth it. I read someone on druid forums spent 88k on repair alone, and meanwhile I spent over 50-70g max throughout several days.
I had both bosses at 10% and my mana was something around 12%. What legion gear did you farm?
Yeah at that point, it’s pretty difficult to juggle mana. I had similar issue. I died OOM with worm at 8%. My target goal was giant worm at 20% before I finish off Tugar though, 10% on giant worm is too much. This was roughly 10-11 min in.

This was how my gear looked. Honestly, the gear itself isn’t relevant. What’s relevant is if you get gem slots and if you got stats you wanted. Can literally go to any dungeon (minus antorus above normal) and pick up whatever you want. I think I had 4 gem slots total, so not even maximizing like some of the other nutty people are.
At some point I got this trinket and it worked quite well for mana issues. But I decided to pick up a haste trinket to replace it with (highborne compendium of storms) off the AH. I instead used ancient mana potions off the AH which are like 10g on my server. You can drink it twice throughout the encounter, if you’re following a similar pattern to me.
Thank you! Will try again later.
Good luck, you got this.
I just did it! Took two more tries. I had the worm at 2% and I was about to have a stroke towards the end no joke I ended the fight with about 40% mana somehow this time around.
Absolute Queen, gratz!!
What trinkets.
Highborne compendium of storms was the major one that bettered my haste and gave me some dps. My other one was star gate from nighthold but I heard there’s way better ones than that one.
There’s a bunch of ways to deal with it. Mainly alternating barrier, pain sup, fear, rapture + desperate prayer, etc.
So much happening though. You are dodging, a dot is cutting you in half instantly, you get this totem that stuns you unless you nuke it fast, you have to interrupt Fel Blast, you have to stop casting or get locked out. And you have to try to do all these things nearly simultaneously and if you mess up once or twice, boom, you are dead. And these things can all come in a second apart with nearly everything on cooldown, too.
i dont know why this content has to be insanely hard. And every wipe you are forking out gold for repairs and pots etc.
Currently I am simply practicing on a level 45 toon with all BOA gear and some socketed gear I got questing–a three socket helm and a three socket chest piece. But my stamina seems low though, at under 6k–when I think it ought to be around 7k. At least the repair costs are nothing, and I just want to see how far I can get this way. In the end though it just seems that the reward just seems not worth the effort.
Like at this one point you literally get a dot that will kill you in less than a second, Fel Blast that will kill you instantly plus the totem which will stun you in less than a second, plus you have a worm to dodge and swirlies under you–and all simultaneously.
Gimme a tank and three dps and we could do it. But solo? It seems near impossible without good gear. I tried a few times on a 252 geared toon but quit after forking out gold for repairs. Blizzard can keep their transmog. It’s not worth the time, the effort or the gold. Let alone all three.
It is very annoying content. If you had time to farm the utterly most uber gear for it and the time to do it over and over and over until the RNG worked in your favor, you could do it. But in a short one week timewalk window, Blizzard is out of their minds expecting anyone except the most elite with time to do it. You have to go over and over for hours to get the right RNG to make it doable, and get everything down, plus it seems as if you need really good gear, and even then you can slip up easy.
As for my progress, on my mostly BOA geared toon I have lasted five or six minutes after a few hours. But at that point everything seems to hit like a truck and can easily one shot you. And things like the dot hit you so hard that you are sometimes almost dead by the time you dispel it.
Yeah that is low. I was at 7.2k with an armor kit. You’re better off using your main.
For the fel blast you need to make sure you shadow mend yourself w/ masochism talent and mind blast him before the cast goes off. There’s one combo very early on where I just pain supped myself because he was casting it right as worm was casting his silence. For the majority of it you can shadow mend yourself, mind blast, and it will be enough to survive, but the last 4-5 minutes you’ll need to start cycling through defensives.
Also they extended the event until January.
It’s really not that bad. I spent 1 hour gearing up for it from legion lfr. It doesn’t take awhile, your repair costs will be low (my total over all runs was probably 50g, if that), you will have possible gem slots to up your dps. Get the cloak stamina enchant (it’s all I used) and the armor kit if you want to pad it further. And if you want something specific, you have 4 shots at it. Literally any gear drop is preferable because there will be low repair costs.
What makes the Discipline tower difficult is the micromanagement, yes. But you need to figure out your rotation. I specifically set up my cooldowns where:
In order to make it so I never had mana issues I used Darkmoon Card: Promises.
You won’t have a DPS trinket in that slot, but I didn’t really care about that. With a tight rotation it wasn’t needed. Just be sure to focus as quickly as possible on worm phases. It was to a point I could count the exact number of smite spams I would need between each phase for a perfect burn.
For Fel Bursts without frag belt hack you must rotate cooldowns perfectly. There will always be one up for you.
Fear #1 (this will always be up every other blast)
Desperate Prayer + Barrier #2 (you don’t want to time this as your final cooldown for worm burn)
Rapture #3 (every 3 Bursts)
and finally pain Suppression when things get ugly.
One of the worst bits is RNG on Fel Burst + Sonic at 10%. In order to survive they can’t really both be cast at the same time unless you decide you are brave enough to forego any cooldown for one of the final blasts and are able to survive through Masochism/full hp/shield alone. It will bring you low, but then during worm you should have the cooldowns you need to kill it.
I had the staff from Azshara that worked as a cheat death every 10 minutes. It helped as well.
Good luck, you’ll get there.
Cool, that will make this totally doable!
