I tried to get some gear on this character. To be clear, I have a 580 Resto Druid, and a 575 Resto Shaman. So my 3rd healer.
Tanks that pull entire hallways of trash even in Heroic really can stress healers out. However I managed easily on Druid and Shaman due to pre-hots or big CDs(spirit link) and had more tools to deal with stuff(Shaman AoE stun, Druid Vortex)
So here I am as a Disc priest. First off, I am SLOW. I can’t keep up/ catch up to tanks. 2nd, my heals hit like wet noodles. I don’t have much unless I can stand still and cast but often the big trash packs have a lot of ground effects, stuns, fears etc. I can barely even control my character, let alone cast spells.
It just feels really, really awful right now as a Disc Priest. And tanks don’t look at spec, they just pull the same as they do with any other healer. Really struggling right now.
Boss fights are typically fine. It’s the tanks doing the huge trash pulls that are not.
Sometimes as a disc i change my mind as long no1 die in a big pull is a win for me cause it is hard to keep some dps that also dont move or cc, silence , etc on bigs pulls
to be fair, i think the first room is the most dangerous room in Cinderbrew. for follower dungeons anyway, because garrick just stands there and tanks enemies right in the way of patrols, and the dps and healer never stop moving so they end up pulling extras EVERY. TIME. but of course, even while constantly moving they still somehow always manage to get hit by floor mechanics too.
One pack turns into 4, and then the chef shows up to give everone a 15% damage boost and you wipe. lol
I say this with no malice. Don’t play Disc in dungeons unless its with a group of friends. You really need to know the dungeons like the back of your palm to make it work and have a tank that understands Disc healing profile is very different from other healers.
Just stick with Holy until you get good gear and/or very comfortable with the dungeons.
Edit: forgot to mention that Disc is getting a rather large buff tomorrow, specifically targeting their dungeon performance, or lack thereof.
