Disc priest changes when?

The joke is that the tooltip for Void Tendrils says it lasts 20 (now 15) seconds but it actually has a duration of 0 seconds, which obviously can’t get reduced.

I’ve always enjoyed cooldown reduction based gameplay and the ever hastening snowball effect personally. Having synergies between abilities is an added bonus.

Honestly, i want Renew and Rapture to feel like worth pushing.

Remove Renew from Disc rotation - make it passive - Add it to Rapture - buff Renew significantly.
Now your Rapture applies to Renew alongside the Shield(buff that too). Making it a Proper CD. Currently, both feel horrendous to use.

So are you removing renew as an atonement applicator?

I thought the same thing. We need Renew strictly to hand out instant Atonements when necessary. I actually kind of miss when Disc had the spell Plea in Legion. Renew is basically a boring version of Plea in my opinion. The only way to make Renew feel good again on Disc is to buff the HoT healing so it noticeably heals people.

That’s probably asking for too much, 'cause ya know, Power Word: Shield as it currently is, is just a weak shield with its main effect being an Atonement applier :/. Why would Renew be any different…

Since health pools are going to be so large, could you buff pws and again make it the atonement applicator. Then buff Rapture to actually be useful like 50% of the health pools

I want to renew to be passive from Rapture and buffed.

Shield to be an atonement applicator with no CD. Given shields are so weak might as well remove the CD.

While in rapture you give out Super shields with buffed renew making Rapture actual CD lol

I actually like this change as a bandaid fix for disc until the proper rework pass on the disc tree.

  1. It’s going to reduce button bloat slightly for disc(no more juggling between Flash Heal, Renew and PW:S just for the sake of single target atonement application, just FH and PW:S).

  2. It’s going to increase disc throughput slightly because PW:S is better than Renew, obviously. Might also open up Borrowed Time as a viable option so you can get out more PW:S across the board.

  3. It opens up Shield Discipline as a very viable option for mana management, which also indirectly buffs throughput.

It only needs some form of Weakened Soul returning, so you can’t just have permanent Body and Soul Uptime.

Just give disc door of shadows and id be happy

Give the class Door of Shadows. We all need it. Put it on a 1 sec cast though, the previous iteration felt too long.

Shadow and holy dont need it imo

Shadow and Holy don’t have any more mobility options than Disc does. It belongs in the class tree. Plus, how are you going to say that Shadow shouldn’t have Door of Shadows.

Curious why you think Disc needs it and the other two don’t.

Because when it comes to landing their psychic scream in pvp, shadow has dispersion, silence, horror (big)
Holy has chastise (big)
Disc has nothing
Disc clearly needs it the most but if all 3 specs got it, its probably fine but that would make it even better for holy than for disc since being inturrupted on it as hpriest is negligible where on disc its more punishing.
Disc needs it most
Shadow 2nd
Holy 3rd

Cool, not even talking about PvP. Priests need it in general so we don’t have to get literally carried by Evokers in PvE.

You do realize not everyone is a PvP focused player right?

Honestly, Blizzard could do better by making PvP a completely separate gamemode in the same breath as Remix, Plunderstorm or Classic.

That way PvE and PvP each becomes their standalone games and everyone gets specific balancing to their needs without having to be hamstrung by one mode or the other.

And for people who cry “what about muh world PvP”, well sucks to be them, but world PvP has never been a compelling form of PvP anyway, everything serious about PvP has always been about instanced gameplay.

I wouldn’t WANT Blizz to separate PvE and PvP in my heart of hearts, but at the same time, part of me kind of wants them to go the way of FFXIV where they are completely separated.

I don’t know if you or anyone here was ever played FFXIV Crystal Conflict PvP, but that was some of the most fun PvP gameplay I’ve played in an MMO. FFXIV is basically trims down the number of spells each class (job) has, gives every class a heal button with charges, and allows all 3 roles to play the game still in a fun way (even tanks feel like they do decent damage, but they are still killable!!!).

Crystal Conflict while fun and mostly enjoyable is hampered by the fact that the netcode in FFXIV makes things feel really input laggy, that goes for the whole game. You get used to the way the game feels after a while, but anyway. My main point is that a “Crystal Conflict style” mode of PvP in WoW would be an absolute hit in my opinion. WoW has some of the snappiest MMO combat in the genre. We saw even something as simplified as Plunderstorm was a massive success as far as enjoyment from the PvP community goes. Simplification in PvP would also bring a lot of new players into it and make it easier to understand for observers as well.

Cool. I am talking about pvp. Good talk.

Cool, make that clear next time you want to gatekeep mobility or other spells from PvE players. Good talk.
