Dispels in M+ are killing my mana. And TBH there are too many dispels in some dungeons like Work Shop and Cinderbrew. I feel like I’m a dispel bot, which is not fun.
I’d like purge and dispel disease to be baseline.
I’d like to see a change for raid healing where evanglism is reworked to apply atonement to the entire raid for X seconds. But also reducing atonement healing for its duration (by X%) or it would be too powerful. Currently, applyng atonement by a shield, an instant heal and radiance is still kind of RNG based in a larger raid. Leaving some players not covered during raid wide dmg. It kind of feels weird. Adjusting how evangelism works could really help this raid focused talent.
Holy:
Increase all healing done for parties of 5 or less members by 15%. Fixes M+ Issue. Or adjust sanctify so when it hits 5 or less players it reduces damage taken by 25% for 4 seconds.
Bring back Divine Word: Salvation for raid healing. I miss having that big button. Hymn feels awful this tier with all the movement.
And as a wish but not required for both specs, either change dominate mind to an instant cast for PVE or a 60 second control. 30 secs is kind of tedious.
Okay, did I mention reduce all the dispel mechs in keys. Thanks. Having multiple dispels in a 5 man where I can only dispel every 8 secs, and one DPS doesnt know how to use defensive for a dot kind of makes it look like the egg is on me and not them : P
Also there is still a bug on the 2nd boss of Shop where someone can be LOS from dog and the red box and still die from the AOE. Seen it multiple times even where they are with the whole group who survives and is standing in the same spot. I know you wanted to try to fix this dungeon. But its a “mega dungeon” and continuing to nerf it takes away from what it was. Its just not that fun. Junkyard even though it was a mega dungeon, however, was fine for keys.
To be honest, i´m not sure if you are serious or trolling. Some points are fine-ish but some are just troll.
If you have mana problems as Discpriest, you are doing something wrong. Really wrong. Discpriest in keys doesn´t even need a manabar.
run cinderbrew. You’ll see the dispel issue. Its quite a thing. Unless my DPS arent CC’ing enough in low key 10s. Idk. Never had mana issues in S1, not ever, but pet was overtuned.
Putting damage reduction on our Holy Words seems, to me, like it might be stepping on Discipline’s toes a bit. A good starting point, in my opinion, would be to remove the nerf to Symbol of Hope in keys (30 second CDR to 60 second). Perhaps even make it affect more defensives.
I’d also like to see Ray of Hope become a PvE ability, particularly since Restitution is a choice node with Guardian Angel, but also, if GA saves someone anyway it’s a 3 minute CD. Ray of Hope is a more thematic approach to damage reduction—reducing, or nullifying, incoming damage, by throwing throughput at it within a window.
Dispelling is a busted mechanic this expansion and it is 100% intentional and I do not expect to see it change. Most dungeons target 2 party members with brutal dots at the same time that MUST be dispelled or a defensive used to soak it. Some dungeons even have 3 or more that just reapply if you use mass dispell. It is designed to force dps to use defensives as unless you are grossly over geared for the content.
Honestly what they have done to healers in general this expansion is a crime against all healers. This is the worst iteration of healing I have seen in 20 years. it is even worse than Shadowlands.
But welcome to the esports world. They only want very specific team comps to be played and those team comps need to be self sufficient. aka DPS that can cleanse debuffs themselves and have powerful defensives. And if they don’t have those abilities then they have massive amounts of burst that cut the fights shorter.
The brunt of all of this does not fall on the healer. Truth is healer carrying died with the shadowlands prepatch. It was game over for healers when they redesigned the game and did the level crunch.
Now healers are like support chars in league of legends. Almost not even needed.
Last season there was several M+ teams doing 16+ keys without a healer in the group. They just stacked dps that didn’t need to depend on a dedicated healer and subbed the healer for a augment evoker. Paired with a prot pala tank and literally no one needed a healer as long as players did mechanics right.
The truth is the game is 100% automated now. There is no need for reactive healing because if someone is dying it means they are not doing mechanics right.
I don’t like it. Most people don’t like it. This game was not created to be a robot.
Short Term:
Holy priests need Prayer of Healing’s throughput to be buffed (another 25% at least.) It just doesn’t hold up against using flash heal and heal instead of prayer - the throughput is waaaaaay too low. It just feels awful.
Generally, I find mending to be a fun ability. I don’t like when a lot of our talent budget is spent on it though. It isn’t interactive enough and very passive in terms of gameplay. Our talent/power budget should be spent on prayer of healing, flash heal, heal, and our holy words. Consolidate mending talents and roll up the less interesting into the ability baseline. Create more for the bolded above. Don’t put more power into renew.
Longer Term:
In M+ in general holy priests suffer due to how encounters are designed. They’re always high movement and put action economy at a premium which goes against the holy priest design theme.
They should adjust holy priest spells to confer buffs to the healed target so the people in a holy priest’s M+ party does the damage that other helers bring. That way the holy priest can maintain lightweaving and keep casting heals when they aren’t running around like crazy. The only other shorter term option could be giving holy priests lust.
Then you are playing it wrong. There are guides on what your rotation should look like to cover 20 people in a raid and indeed which to target for your pwr.
You arent the first to ask evang to do that nor i imagine will you be the last but no thanks
They kinda did the second part but it was very unpopular.
Basically Assured Safety was giving both benefits to both specs. Problem was it was just a lot of defensive buttons to hit all the time. Rotation felt very weird. Especially when raiding and ramping, you basically had to rotate a bunch of abilities in and it was awkward.
Just tested my holy priest.
It felt super awful.
When the words +apo are on cd…my aoe healing was zero. While heavy movement…how should i then top the group?
I wish they buff prayer of healing by 200% or so and let it put hots on grp. Then finally aoe healing would be better too…and maybe 1 instant heal for st/grp heal to react @ oh-crap moments.
Rly the healers in WOW feeling totally weak compared my good old healer days in Daoc. My Cleric there had so many buffs for the party: Spec and base buffs, (str, dex, af, con, int for casters, hp reg) base+spec heals (st), a st instant heal 100% but long cd, a grp instant heal 75% also long cd, a grp heal, a spec grp heal, a spread heal (healed the most injured grp member the most and rest at party<-- was a very mana hungry spell, but saved all vs heavy dmg).
In WOW when i play my Holy priest it feels like im swimming in deep water without being able to swim at all.
They should rly buff the healing power esp. at aoe healing @ holy priest. Its not fun atm.
I know Oracle disc is in a really good spot right now but I wish ProM at the very least didn’t cost so much mana and applied atonement to the first target we throw it at. ( for Oracle disc anyway ). It doesnt need to apply shields. It just needs to be a global that applies atonement ( like renew ) so it doesn’t really interrupt ramps.
Same with PW:Life for Oracle. I feel like it could be decent pick up to save a life here or there but when used it’s just so bad at 8-9 mil health pools, even with DA+Innerfocus+MR.
Just so many talents in the class tree that feel bad to press numbers wise even under the best circumstances. We path through so many of them and rarely ( if ever ) even press them because they are so undertuned or they just straight up feel bad to press rotationally or during ramps. I dont get why they keep them around tbh.
I don’t think asking for ProM to apply atonement or be a bit cheaper is a big ask though for those of us who don’t like pathing through say Holy Nova, which also feels bad to press HPS wise and rotationally ( outside of pvp I guess ). ( halo/DS being another one ) S-Cov Halo shouldn’t be that weak imo, it requires some set up and a global during S-Cov that could be better spent but the payoff just feels bad and again breaks up ramp/rotation - which feels bad.
Suppose we aren’t getting buffs any time soon though because we are in a decent spot and most of my feedback comes from a place of nostalgia probably. Just sucks seeing all of these talents be ignored by devs, like if they remain that weak they could at least consider making them passive procs like Chi Wave on monk kinda thing so they dont interrupt rotations/ramps. Them keeping them in the tree is weird for someone like me who hasn’t played disc priest since like pre-WoD.
I guess most of my feedback is just “fix the class tree”, which might hopefully come eventually.
At least PoH should be a viable AoE healing like Chain heal is for Rsham…
Like PoH is still veeery bad in M+.
It’s so funny how with my Rdruid I can AoE heals the whole group so easy while still having more mobility, defensives, can do dmg while healing, and interrupts for wipe saves, meanwhile Hpriest can’t do 50% of that.
Funny enough we’re almost on 11.1.5 and the bottom part of the spec tree is still a mess…
The design difference between disc and holy specifically made PoM a holy-centric spell and PW:S a disc-centric spell even if both specs had access to them.
Making PoM actually good for disc means having to make PW:S good for holy, and you will find that not many people will support this level of homogenisation and blurring the lines between specs.
Do you want a priest? I mained priest a couple expansions. Most healers want to heal everyone at the same time during raid aoe, its a good feeling.
What I want as a player is to not feel like I’m missing a few players here and there even if I still top the charts. Healers naturally want to help the whole team and disc kind of misses that element as I cannot put atonement on the whole raid.
Changing how evangelism works can solve this. I’d like to see this interaction mixed up, its been the same for years and I’m bored of it in raids.
Not really. In cata Disc could still pick up the Glyph that increased the healing of the first target by 100% and it was pretty useful to weave in. The heal wasn’t weak either. Renew was more holy’s counterpart to Disc’s PW shield back then and Holy has other things going on now a days ( holy words are literally the chakras of old ). ProM on holy now a days is mostly is just another way to spread extra renews around.
Mending was never really a staple of either spec until more recently where they decided to throw in like 8+ talents in the holy tree ( talents are are very weak still and mostly serve the function of proccing renews ). No one has ever thought “oh yeah holy is the prayer of mending spec”, it’s the holy words, straight up reactive healer spec that can angel when they die because they are still extremely squishy spec. Back then ProM was useful and useable by/for both specs.
It’s also in the Class tree. I get holy has talents that buff it slightly but it should be at the very least useful for either spec if it’s in the class tree imo. Even if it is better for holy doesn’t mean it should be completely useless for disc. Same deal with Holy Nova, PW Life, Halo, Divine Star…We are forced to path through either of these and not only are they underperforming hps wise they are also big interrupts to ramp/rotation to fit in most of the time. ( so they are removed from bars or not pressed at all ). If casted ProM at least applied atonement to the first target and wasn’t 50k mana it wouldnt break ramps, instead of a renew we can throw in one ProM in the ramp cycle kind of thing.
Holy having a defensive personal PW Shield probably wouldn’t be a bad thing either rofl. Just stick a 20s-30s cd on it for holy depending on shield size, I think they deserve a personal defensive too imo. Holy casting ONE PW Shield on themselves occasionally to not die seems like a good thing to me and isn’t really homogenization. We did it in classic, sure it cost a lot of mana but could save our life if we got aggro and fade was down.
Again though, no, making disc’s ProM at least apply atonement and have a reasonable mana cost wouldn’t break anything. It certainly wouldnt mean the devs need to change anything for holy. Disc’s Oracle tree has a talent that throws ProMs out. At the very least just let casted ProM apply atonement on the first target so it’s not rotation/ramp breaking. Otherwise they might as well delete 2/3 of the on use abilities in the class tree in favor of more passives.
The class tree, and holy probably, still need big reworks at this point. Also if you look at holy logs ProM is still pretty pitiful healing wise for holy, having so many talents just to make it do that little healing is pretty pathetic tbh. A buff to the extremely underperforming talents in the class tree wouldnt be a bad idea imo. If not just delete them and make more pasives.
TLDR: I want casted ProM to apply atonement for oracle disc and/or cost less mana in general.
Honestly at this point now that circle of healing is completely removed from the game, prayer of healing should get axed also. The clearly are building holy around 100% single target burst healing. So there is an easy solution to fix all of this without disrupting the current class design.
Dispersing light talent is a great addition this season but should be baseline so that single target healing is more of a cleave healing. This will make trail of light a single choice talent node therefor opening up the single target heal build to be a somewhat efficient cleave heal build. But as it stands, Trail of light isn’t strong enough on it’s own to properly cleave heal AOE burst cycles nor is Dispersing light. But both combined would feel meaningful enough to ignore the endless hard spam casting needed to utilize it over 50% of the time.
Roll back Holy design to pre shadowlands levels. Honestly this all went to crap with the shadowlands pre patch when they level crunched everyone and then took it upon themselves to gut holy of all it’s sustained healing power from prayer of healing and circle of healing. Back in the end of BFA holy was in a great place and felt balanced all around with viable AOE healing from both prayer of healing and circle of healing.
Combine elements of Holy and disc into 1 single healing spec and then do something different entirely with the third. Kind of like Evoker has with augment being a hybrid DPS support while still allowing for a dedicated individual heal and DPS spec.
the truth is, Whoever got placed in charge of design for priest after the mass termination by Activision is incompetent and wanted to reinvent the wheel. Fix something that wasn’t even broken.
