Disc Priest 100k Shadow Word Death in 3s

They’ve been ignoring healers and/or zugging them for a month, one can fight back now everyones gotta put their pants back on and it doesn’t feel fair.

Sounds like a successful execution crit with modifiers

Leave healers alone. Disc isn’t even all that good compared to previous expacs, it’s just playable now. That makes disc lit the only playable healer in SS. If they nerf disc, enjoy waiting 3 hours in queue for SS as a dps since no one will want to heal it.

The setup for one of these 100-200k combos takes like 20-30 seconds and involves alternating light and shadow. Use your defensive CD’s and interrupt.

Just like everyone else has said, if you’re letting a disc priest weave shadow and light spells, you know what’s coming and should probably cc or stop said disc priest. This sounds like a personal problem.

Yeah I play disc in pvp I’m awaiting a damage nerf. Getting harsh discipline and twilight then setting up into shadow covenant, PI, Dark Arc and then solace and hammering a machine gun penance into death is insane healer damage.

What about Resto Shaman casting Stormkeeper with aura mastery and critting 150k? That’s one global spent to load potentially 300k+ damage.

Because he didn’t say Disc. He said healers, meaning all of them.

You dont think healers should possess lethal on an afk target with 8 gcds uninterrupted?

Or more specifically disc?

If you’re talking about the OP, his title is literally talking about disc though.

Wasn’t replying to OP. Not trying to derail the thread here, so I’ll just quote again:

I think that healers might finally be viable if they’re capable of sustaining 40k dps.

It’s a disc. They don’t have a lot of cc.

Psychic scream breaks on damage and warriors are basically immune to fears. Void tendrils?

Most of this complaining is probably just DH’s and wars who can’t play their class and are used to winning by the time honored strategy of jumping the healer, which turns SS into a game of chance where whichever team had the FOTM healer won. Considering that and the amount of abuse hurled at healers, you should be thankful they buffed disc if you like SS, because it made it playable for healers. Otherwise queue times would be well over an hour for DPS.

That’s a handy tip.

This game is dealing with generations of bad ideas, all stacked on top of eachother like layers of soil.

LOL I know it’s basic, but I have ppl running from dome in PVP all the time. People ranked over 1000 and often much higher. Not their first time playing.

Also, just saw this:

I think healers should have options to add meaningful damage to kills, but it shouldn’t feel like you’re being hit by a DPS.

Resto Shaman getting LvB procs from maintaining flame shock is an example of good design imo… you’re rewarded for investing free globals into damage and you can add a meaningful, but not absurd, amount of pressure to a go… whereas Stormkeeper is far too strong for a single talent point investment early in the tree.

I completely understand where healers are coming from when they say they want options to impact the match (especially in RSS) but like, I can literally just Schism + Death someone at 40% on my Disc and RNG kill them with crits if Shadow Cov is active. That shouldn’t be the case

And before someone defends it as “easily counterable,” stop looking at the situation in a vacuum. There are potentially 3 targets to interrupt with competing priorities in a 3s match. If you kick a poly on your healer because you’re low, it’s not a failure on your part that the enemy healer nuked you for 100k.

Some of these ppl really cant cope with the idea of healers having a fighting chance.

Yeah, maybe every healer needs to be able to do 65k sustained to keep up with all these Warriors.

If healers are fun to play in that they can contribute meaningfully to damage, then the pain you feel for not being to outright heal through the absurd damage we have is greatly lessened.

At least, this is the case for me.

It changes the internal monologue from “What the actual f*** am I supposed to do there?” to “Man, so close. If only I had gotten off an extra _______ when the rogue was at 3%.”

You always have those weirdos who refuse to place any damage abilities on their bars when they play a healer, but I think they’re all strictly PvE nerds so let them be suboptimal in their dungeons.

ITT:

Blizz Complainers: SS q 2 long. Needz heals
Blizz: fixes issue
Blizz Complainers: Me mad! Why healers good?

I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s maintained that mastery was a terrible idea for a stat.

It was perfect back when we just chose between haste & crit, or stacking more resilience if you wanted to be tankier.

Know what also helped blunt the crazy burst damage crits? Resilience. Certainly not versatility, the singular stat in this game designed worse than mastery.

Ugh…
