Disc nerfs

I just started gearing disc and I’ve always been god at disc healing. Oracle disc I found to be so fun and it just felt like I could handle so much. What are these nerfs looking like guys? Is it worth keeping around or should I go back to my retro Druid?

I think you’ll be fine. They are getting tuned down because they are overtuned currently. You’ll likely only notice an impact if you were already geared and running high keys or mythic raiding.

Do we know the actual nerfs like overall how it affecting has anyone figured them out yet?

If you run a crit build, then the nerfs do nothing because a lot of your healing is Flash Heal, Atonement and Divine Aegis and they didn’t touch any of that, actually buffed Atonement slightly, which is also VW’s biggest heal obviously.

I’m still getting gear so I need to get my crit up. Is the spec gutted?

Just go play one of the other top healers that didn’t get nerfed

We won’t know until Tuesday tbh. I would say if you enjoy Disc, play Disc.

Disc’ll be fine, promise. It’s wildly overtuned currently, in that it’s as far as I’m aware full on objectively the best healer in all content. The nerfs it’s getting at worst would place it somewhere near the upper middle of the pack, if not still somewhere near the top.

And as I often point out on these forums - upper middle of the pack is the promised land, gentlemen. You’re not likely to get nerfed, you perform well in all content, and it’s not strange to get a small buff at that placement.

If you enjoy Disc, play Disc. They’ll still be plenty competitive, and you’ll certainly perform better on something you enjoy playing over forcing yourself to play something you like less.

Oracle disc most likely won’t be in the meta, is basically the wrap.

If you’re expecting to be the meta top level healing spec, pally stocks went up. If you just find disc fun, then you’ll be OK. Though it’s very likely that priests are going to swap back to voidweaver, and pally’s going to be stronger than VW. You can still take VW up to 17/18s, so if you like the playstyle then play it.

COULD turn out differently, but that’s pretty much how I’m feeling going into the patch.

15-17% nerf in Raids. You will be the bottom HPS now in your Raid. Blizzard really just doesn’t want to see the spec anymore.

Healing will be harder but it will probably still be mostly fine in Mythic+. You will just do even less damage than our already non-existent damage.

lol I keep hearing it’s either not going to be fine, or that it will be fine. I guess only time will tell.

First person I’ve heard paladin is going to be the play. I’m not 100% sure though (but I also dont disagree that hpal its in a good spot now), but Rdruid is probably gonna be top now on HPS, and Rshammy was also seeing some decent representation near the top level lately

I think Rsham and Druid are good, but Pally comes with better oneshot protection, decent utility for certain mechanics (like freedom vs some of the damaging knockbacks) and has solid healing/damage that’s only getting buffed.

Druid does great HPS but Balance is still really really good, so I don’t really see people swapping off balance. Rshammy maybe just because mastery buff is super strong.
