I can see VW nerf for keys coming but they have to balance it with not hurting it in raid

What would be the point of nerfing it?

It doesn’t do the most damage, it doesn’t do the most healing, it doesn’t have an interrupt, or crowd control or good dispel types. It relies on everyone else to do everything for them.

The only thing it has going for it is has decent ways to artificially boost health in coordinated premade groups to let people live normally unlivable things via Shields/PS/Barrier. But Shaman, Paladin, and Monk even do that better if it’s a Pug because their survival abilities are less targeted so no communication is needed.

Like yes you could take a class that does average damage, healing and has no standard utility, and nerf that into nothingness I guess. But that would be a nerf literally out of pure spite.

The thing that would probably need to be nerfed would be it’s shields or stamina buff. But that’s literally what Disc is known for. Take that away you may as well just get rid of the class. It’s be like taking Beacon of Light away from Paladins. It’s basically its identity.

Disc hasn’t been changed since the start of TWW. Shaman was the Meta then until people in the 17+ area realized they needed something else to live the incoming damage which is a tale as old as time in high keys. Disc is no stronger now than when Shaman was meta. I’d argue if it wasn’t too strong then it’s definitely not too strong now still.

Because they promised to not let someone be meta for too long

They could nerf the atonement transfer for VW at a guess

Disc is in a weird spot where it’s now meta in M+, but also one of the least played healers in Mythic raiding, and has the lowest hps.

The only area that Disc is probably overtuned at is damage in M+. Most of the healers cap out at 250-300k, but Disc can easily do 400-450k+.

The issue atm is that Resto Shamans and Disc Priests are the only two healers that can give the group enough mitigation to survive the big hits in high keys.

So for like 3 weeks now they’ve been Meta? For what, the first time in like 6 years? The last time was 2 weeks at the start of BFA until they nerfed it into oblivion and then it was absolutely out of the meta and M+ altogether. Disc could be Meta for the rest of the expansion and it wouldn’t be as long as HPal and RDruid have been in the limelight historically.

It doesn’t do the most damage. Mistweaver does, and it’s not even close… As I called out in a previous post going into 11.0.5 and was told I was wrong. And I told people to wait until Misteavers started changing their builds and they would become number one. They did, imagine my shock. And now it’s like 25% higher dps than Disc. The cooler part being it’s primarily Priority Damage so it’s even more valuable than Disc’s aoe damage. Disc is tied for second and third place with Preservation Evoker in terms of overall damage done.

That’s why I’m saying any nerf is just a spite nerf because we’re not the best at anything besides increasing the ceiling of what’s livable in coordinated premade groups. Is that really worthy of nerfing when that would also delete Disc’s only remaining identity after Flameshaper took their burst raid healing niche and raid spot? Imo no.

Im sorry… did i say there were being nerfed this week? or next? no i said its something i can see, i didn’t specify a time limit, and my reasoning as stated was comments they have made. These comments were made after leaving DH meta for far too long

Cath is right which is why they might pause on adjusting VW because in raiding its weaker.

Were already halfway through the season and keys are going to start capping out soon because were maxing out our myth iLvl soon. Title keys are going to be probably all +15s and 14s, but we have 10+ weeks to go.

I think Blizzard is taking a pause on class tuning until 11.1 because 11.0.5 was effectively the real expansion launch because it included all the class changes that didn’t make the TWW launch.
