I’ve been tanking, but wanting a healer. I’ve always enjoyed disc, but realize it isn’t always the best in uncoordinated groups. However, hoping it may be better in TWW than some other expansions. Thoughts?
Really wish it had a kick, though…

I’ve been playing both Holy and Disc this season and Disc is pretty good in most of the dungeons. All the boss AOE mechanics line up with Mindbender + Mindblast reset with Voidweaver so you can easily cruise control through the damage. Most of the chaotic moments in pugs can just be handled with some PWR and bursting out some quick atonement healing.
The only dungeon that’ll give you a hard time is Dawn because there’s a lot of single target funnel healing required with people getting nasty dots from mini bosses which Disc isn’t very good at compared to Holy. Ara’s 2nd boss and some of the mobs at the end of GB require some single target funneling, but it’s not as bad as Dawn.
Other than that… Disc is the 2nd best healer this season after Resto Shamans imho.
Disc is good and it’s fun. You’ll likely struggle at first but it’s worth the effort to learn.
People make disci this elite healer for the pros.
It isn’t really.
Especially after the DF rework that simplified it and made it very pug friendly.
Just use PW:Radiance to aoe apply atonement and blast dmg.
It’s simple. Just go out and play it. You will love the simplicity of just dealing damage and keeping atonement up.
Higher keys need some more planning. For example using rupture to pre shield ppl to ease the burst healing needed etc.
It’s pretty fun, you might even forget that you’re not a DPS when Entropic Rift comes out. Also because it’s tied to mind blast on a short CD instead of void torrent, you get to enjoy the sweet SFX and visuals of voidweaver. Feels more cosmic than balance imho.
