DISC FC's vs Tank FC's

IM seeing alot disc priests that want to FC even when there is a legit Tank on their team …and the bad attitude they have towards these tanks is quite toxic…to the point they would rather lose than let the tanks cap…they refuse to heal the tanks if the tank has the flag…ive seen these priests rip into the tanks telling them not to pick up the flag …its horrible…just the toxic chat in game is enough to create a loss…Tanks have one …and only one role in pvp and that is to FC …again seeing them refusing to heal tanks that have the flag …is so cringe

Ask them how they are supposed to lifegrip themselves

Well a disc is tankier than a tank to be fair. Tanks are kinda squishy which I’m personally loving because in DF they were obnoxious as hell. When DKs and guardian were nearly unkillable without modifiers.

But the other often overlooked thing is that if you have the flag you can’t out range your own heals. Priests especially have zero mobility so they often can’t stay in range of thier FC or thier FC runs from them, which may or may not be the right call.

I try my best to avoid touching flag on priest despite this because crossing the map as the least mobile class in the game is an undertaking of frustration. I find flag maps much harder on priest. Sometimes I’m just stuck away from both FCs and have to hope the team has it handled. I’m sure others will feel differently but I don’t think priest mobility is acceptable in this meta.

Discipline is far superior to any non-Guardian tank for FCing.

And even with Guardians, most lack the brain cells sufficient to avoid enemies via Z-axising and try to pure facetank while throwing in any number of conceivable ways.

Disc priests are the worst!
I wish someone would teach them a lesson!

In the same match that I was killed 3 times with the enemy’s flag as an MM, the enemy’s FC VDH capped twice, so a supported tank can carry. In another match I capped all 3 flags, again as MM, so a dps can carry if well supported. It isn’t news the Discipline Priest is the tankiest spec, and without a DK spam gripping and slowing them, eventually they will cross the map with a flag if supported some.

I concur that a healer that refuses to heal an FC has performed gameplay sabotage, but I also wouldn’t argue with a healer that wants to carry. Healers are well suited for it due to current design and tuning. An average Disc player is probably 5+ X more likely to live long enough to cap a flag compared to the best on earth Protection Paladin because the rules of the game say tanks take loads of extra damage for being tanks and nearly all Protection Paladin defensives don’t function while carrying an orb/crystal/flag.

While the healer might have gone about it in the most rude way, it may have been best to let them carry all the same.

Depends on a lot, but in most cases the disc is a better option. Depends on the comp of each of the teams and of course the ability of the priest. That said, warriors, dks, and palis just don’t do great because of their susceptibabliy to some CC. Disarm a dk and their goest their healing. Somewhat similar for warriors. Palis just have their major CDs made useless and silences ruin the rest.

Well, no… That’s very wrong.

All these tanks have ways they can contribute that still make them very valuable at times. The issue is the tanks need to be willing to do something other than tanking and build for it.

Like Prot Palis are incredible in mines for off carts or for just about any node map. You’re essentially get a third healer that’s very tough to kill. Prot palis are also super good with assisting the FC with freedoms and even bops to help them get the flag or return it. They’re not awful at running, but holding isn’t great.

DKs can take priests completely out of the game, quite literally. Just harassing healers in general is pretty huge. They’re very good at sitting and spinning in general. They’re also good at just harassing any FC and slowing them across the field.

Same goes for prot warriors. Slowing the EFC is huge. They spin well and do decent damage if you’re against a heavy melee team on a node map.

Tanks just need to be flexible and understand where they will help best.

Druid and DH tanks both seem to fair as well or better. All situational though. If you have a good rogue on the disc and can shut their heals down, they can drop pretty quick if you pressure them before they setup in the flag room.

Most tanks range healers or don’t know what to do inside the base. If anything, as a defensive healer, I’d rather a noob tank just stand in the flag. Half the time these tanks run around like they know what they are doing and healers get ccs and slowed and tanks die alone in some obscure place inside our base lol or the path they take across the field is just dumb.
But a smart tank who can play a little is a way better option than a healer imo
