Disc Divine Aegis

Honestly what’s the reason to take Divine Aegis ATM? I enjoyed when it was 5/10% absorbs it made it worthwhile taking in both Raid and Mythic+ now it’s just, Wimpy and sad I remember it was dealing like 4-5 of my healing as just Passive, now it’s like a measly 2/2.5% which idk I absolutely hate it. Honestly, I feel like they should Swap Aegis of Wrath and Divine aegis Node Position, Makes Aegis of Wrath the 2-point ability 15% (1.5% Decay)/30% (3% Decay) and make Divine Aegis the 1-point capstone ability.

I was really disappointed with how weak they’ve made Divine Aegis.

Being based on crits, that’s less than 20% chance to add a shield for 6% of the healing done. That’s roughly 1.2% of our healing as DA shields. Considering overhealing, that’s prob what pushes it up to the 2-3% range. It’s pathetic.

Back before Atonement became the defining feature of Disc (talking back in WotLK), shields were where it was at. When you crit, Divine Aegis provided a shield for 100% of healing done instead of providing the extra 100% healing for critting. This would actually be a “nerf” to the way it works today, as you get the 100% healing plus 6% shield, but by cutting down on overhealing, I think it would feel much better.

I tried it for a bit this expansion, just feels too weak.

And I thought maybe they should change from it being based around crits to it being based around over healing or even benefiting from mastery (or a flat over healing shield cap amount) to an extent. Then people won’t feel as punished for taking the talent node and not having a decent amount of crit to actually benefit from the talent

Being based on overhealing would be great, I think it worked like that at some point. I agree that being forced to crit to get decent benefit from it doesn’t feel good.

I think it’s worth considering that a ~3% healing increase is actually not that terrible comparatively to a lot of other talent points in many other trees.

The thing that makes DA so noticeable is that it shows up on meters. But if you actually try to analyze a regular log of let’s say an M+ dungeon, there’s a LOT of talents that are only providing you ~1% per point, sometimes even less.

I still think it could be buffed considering how late in the tree it is. But it’s not THAT terrible, and AoW did just get indirectly buffed essentially due to PW:S getting a buff today.

I understand, Though the very least they can Change it so that’s it’s Not Based around Crits

They should make Divine Aegis apply a buff on PWS that can only affect one target at a time that should increase divine aegis by like x5 on them.

Really wish they would bring back the Barrier of the Devoted artifact trait as a talent somewhere. For those unaware:

I feel they could do so much with something like this. They could keep the original effect or rework it and add some Divine Aegis interaction with it. Maybe they could also increase absorptions as well to targets inside the barrier.

I say they need tonget rid of the decay. I mean we just got a buff of 20% so they agreed our shields were underpowered

I would love for that trait to make a return. Barrier feels bad to push currently because it almost always needs an additional CD to go with it in harder content.
I’d also like if they gave a choice node to turn barrier into luminous barrier for fights where stacking isn’t possible.

I actually feel like that should Be Baked into It, I mentioned in another Forums about some changes they could make to talents like Barrier

  • Power Word Barrier Keep it how it is with the DMG Reduction as you’re inside it but add an Extra effect where If you’re inside or touch the barrier and move out (Because we are always on the move from mechanics) you gain an absorb shield but the longer you are in the Said barrier the bigger your shield gets (Have it reduced for 5/8 or more players for balancing issues)

But I honestly believe this Should be a Talent Node with Evangelism and just have Lenience baked into Disc as an Automatic Talent

I tried to Post on my priest again, but it said something about having to wait for someone to participate/reply. But I this was just announced on WOWhead

  • Divine Aegis once again creates an absorb shield for 5%/10% of the amount healed (was 3%/6%).
