Disc damage is a complete joke

Pls explain to me how rsham and pres can do double the DPS of disc.
Sham does 120k lava bursts. Mind Blast does…I honestly couldn’t tell you cuz I never bother checking it.

A healer whose literal class lore is about healing through damage should be able to pump in its normal rotation. Like Mind Blast should be literally part of the healing rotation. Atonement needs to be massively buffed. As of now you just heal through penance mostly and trying to do damage in 3s/shuffle will get you killed.

See, therein lies the balancing issue with disc. If you can crank high damage while also sustaining your team while other healers do less damage while not healing then it creates a bit of an imbalance.

well yeah, it’s just a damage amp skill

dark reprimand is the only real dam+healing but the new version of harsh discipline makes you spam radiances which ooms you to kingdom come, it’s epic

Mindblast should be doing 80k+

Your not using penance or ultimate penance correctly if your getting out damaged by those classes

Tbh when you see sp numbers, you can’t really buff disc/holy dmg or sp will do less dmg than both healer it would be a complete joke.

My damage seems fine :man_shrugging:

Yep, and this problem exists in pve too. Atonement is just, and always will be, a bad mechanic (fun, but bad balance wise). Disc should go back to being about absorption so their damage can just be tuned like a normal healer.

this version of disc was bland as heck man

I mean you could say the same about rdruid: “Its becuase of the hots. Thats why we can’t balance it.”
The balance argument is BS. Disc can totally get a damage buff and not be OP. Or let it be OP right up there with rdru.

I actually swear that making disc OP would fix the healer shortage in shuffle. It is one of the most fun classes.

Fair enough, it was just much easier to balance.

I do say that about druids and it’s just as correct there as it is for disc. Druid mastery and hot gameplay is binary and is either too strong or awful (if they can keep people alive it’s too strong, and if they can’t it’s awful). Same with disc damage.

It has been OP and didn’t solve any shortages, nor were people happy when it was OP since it just created unhealable pressure. Fistweaver has the same problem.

i would also like to add that disc historically never had been the highest healer damage (few outliers at best)

It just has the lowest opportunity cost of the healers, which realistically let it do “more” damage (a rsham ‘go’ is zero healing unless they blow ag for example)

But raw killing power? Hpriest and Rsham have had it smoked the entire expac and it’s not close

It just depends if overall pressure or kill windows are more important in the meta. There was a point in s1 when disc was doing just as much overall damage (or close) to a lot of dps, so while their kill window potential still wasn’t as high as stormkeeper shaman (for instance) they were still doing so much overall damage (all while simultaneously healing) that it wasn’t healable.

somebody clearly wasnt around when Disc was doing insane damage and it made the game even more unbearable…sturdy with damage and healing is a raid boss.

Either way it is obvious disc needs a buff or rework. It is unviable at high rating. Everyone knows it. If you think disc is fine rn you are completely trolling

can’t agree more. I’d also like to see PoM return as a functional & important part of disc gameplay. i play priest on wotlk and the difference between managing PoM bounces & not is life & death and I kinda love it.

Even as shadow, like if I have PoM actively bouncing on a bladestorm it’s the difference between dispersion and not. (warrior can force dispersion within like 3 seconds of connecting regardless)

One of my favourite things about classic is how it’s letting me revisit classes I once loved and confirming things I liked / didn’t like and what I’d like to see come back.

Absorb for disc is definitely nice. Damage too, but only damage for the sake of doing damage. not atonement.

Disc’s 4-piece bonus is an absolute joke and is basically a handicap when competing against enemy healers of other classes.

Disc actually felt really good in the beginning of the season but once people started getting their 4-piece bonus set, Disc started slipping dramatically.

In my humble opinion, tier bonuses should be disabled in pvp for the sake of balancing.
