Why is best in slot for Disc priests [Eternal Kindler’s Greatstaff] and not Dreambinder, Loom of the Great Cycle? They have the same stats but the Dreambinder has a good effect on it to and helps with dps

I got Iridal, the Earth’s Master and I just rolled with it.
I get 840k crit with it. 3 min but reduced when you damage enemy with lower HP. But it is Single target however. Still love it.
Whatever BiS list you’re using probably just set it like that for a couple reasons.
- Most BiS lists are based off raid, and healers generally aren’t going to be worrying about on-use damage.
- Because Dreambinder is rare and has significant competition with DPS players.
- Dreambinder is worse than Iridal when it comes to damage procs and M+.
Dreambinder has pretty flowers at your feet though, so that has to count for something. I have both on an alt healer and I wish that I had them on my main.
I’m pretty sure the Vakash one-hander is the best for Disc in raid and the Iridal staff is better for M+.
The staff maybe. But according to wowhead the bis for staff for disc is the Eternal Kindler’s Greatstaff.
Seems incorrect imho.
Always use difference sources as a reference guide and make your own decisions based on that.
I said this elsewhere but I don’t think the wowhead priest guides are very good atm. I know in the past icy veins was a bit of a meme, but it seems to track what I see in the priest discord much more accurately.
To that end I think it’s the fyraak mace + oh from council for raiding or iridal in m+. I believe the nymue staff is the bis staff for raiding as well.
One factor to consider is the fyrakk mace is only strong if the damage from 100-90% is relevant. On later stage encounters the fights have % based phases, as well as timers, so for something like fyrakk damage from 100-90 is worthless compared to what iridal can do during execute.
i think for staffs our technical bis is highrolling the staff from ToTT at max ilvl from the vault. As its a crit haste staff, but the youre just going to have an easier time getting one of the raid staves to drop.
Haste + Mastery is pretty good for raiding if you wanna pump high healing. Hence, Eternal Kinder looks pretty good.
For M+, Iridal, the Earth’s Master is definitely BIS. Haste rocks, and vers is especially good the higher you go where surviving is what you want. The damage it blasts with is nice and that does not count towards Embellished. Iridal is also what the highest players are using, which pretty much closes the deal.
