And you’re evading. Bro that’s sus as hell.
Am I the only one that wished Blizz justified Sylvanas position in Shadowlands instead of having her get berated? Like sure she was wrong for starting a war, but she also wasn’t wrong in the sense that the entire Order of Death was weird as hell and 100% deserved to be destroyed
lol evading?
Whats “sus” is having no sympathy for someone who had their home and people destroyed, then turned into an undead slave.
Having no comprehension of sympathy is a behavior of a psychopath. Now thats “sus”.
I don’t think she was dominated. She was definitely manipulated. As soon as she met him after her suicide, Zovaal started to convince her that the Shadowlands was flawed, especially in terms of how she’d never be with her loved ones, and then foretold “a fiery darkness would return, she would have to “step out of the shadows and lead”, a blade would pierce the heart of the world, she would hold the blood from its wound, and finally, she would topple a king and shatter the sky itself” so over time she started to believe him.
Have other faction leaders been replaced?
I guess the orcs have.
Obviously I think it was dumb what they did with Sylvanas, thats what this whole thread is about, but if all the faction leaders get replaced I guess its par for the course.
I mean, she was technically a villain long before Shadowlands.
- She maintained slave pens in Undercity where she would have human, dwarf and even orcish captives as experimental subjects for her plagues
- Use of said plague on towns and villages, but most notably Gilneas
- Launched a genocidal attack on the Night Elf homes of Teldrassil and Darnassus, completely destroying both and killing any who did not escape in time.
- Leaving The Alliance to die on the Broken Isles instead of having their mages take Vol’jin to safety
- Starting the Fourth War between the Alliance and the Horde
- Working alongside the Naga and the Old God N’Zoth, for the purpose of killing as many people as possible.
- Eventually becoming the Jailer’s puppet and all but destroying Anduin’s soul
- She was ordered to assassinate Bolvar, but instead used it as an opportunity to end her own existence in a way
Something tells me, this hero turned villain is not forever trapped in the Maw freeing all of the souls she sent there when she was an agent of the Jailer, and while Tyrande will NEVER trust or forgive her, I feel like she may have a redemption story coming soon where she is redeemed of her transgressions, restored to her Elven status, and brought into the new Quel’Danas in Midnight as a steward of the city, and Anduin is the one who finds her and helps her after mending his own life realizing 2nd chances are vital and she never got a fair shot at life after Arthas turned her into the Dark Lady.
I would love to see her restored to her former glory.
There’s quite a few changes:
Humans: Varian → Anduin/Bolvar → Varian → Anduin → Turalyon
Dwarves: Magni → Council of Three Hammers
Worgen: Genn → Tess
Night Elves: Tyrande/Fandral → Tyrande/Malfurion → Shandris
Orcs: Thrall → Garrosh → Thrall
Tauren: Cairne → Baine
Darkspear Trolls: Vol’jin → Rokhan (I think)
Zandalari Trolls: Rastakhan → Talanji
Forsaken: Sylvanas → Desolate Council
I’m sure there’s more. Like I know Kul’tiras is a whole mess and Jaina should be the current leader but I’m too lazy to type
If you think making Sylv a villain was a “whim” you haven’t been paying attention to Sylvanas
I dont remember this. I could see humans being down there since humans wanted to kill undead. But I only played vanilla and BC, and a little bit of the new expansion.
And if humans wanted to kill undead, did that make the humans villains?
Em, no. I have been paying attention and never said anything about “whims”. Seems like you havent been paying attention to the posts in this thread.
Here’s the kicker that blows people’s minds…
“Villain is just a matter of perspective and timing”. Vader was trying to make the Empire the most powerful in the Galaxy. Garrosh was doing what any good warchief would, which is all out war and win at all cost. Most of the wars that were started were caused by the Burning Legion and the Black Dragon Flight. Horde thinks the Alliance to be the villain because they are weak and cowardly, hiding behind their walls. Alliance hates Horde cause they are blood thirsty savages without a moral compass or a sense of structure. Malfoy and Harry hated each other because they were both being manipulated to believe so. So who was the villain? Harry or Malfoy?
WoW story/lore was destroyed by all those who took over when Afrisabi was fired, all of it.
Dark Lady watch over you, because you are 100% correct.
To be fair… they could do something like the old Heros of Mighty and Magic and make Draenei.some kind of demon faction HoMM handle demons, undead, celestials, elves in such a perfect way that idk, it could work.
The spaceships, other planets, lazers, no thanks.
That’s an interesting opinion, but I have to disagree. Sylvanas is a villain because she often chooses to take more harmful/spiteful paths toward achieving her goals even when less harmful paths are apparent. Let’s take Sylvanas “noble” goal of finding a way for her people to repopulate. Keep in mind that Sylvanas and her people are immortal. They suffer losses due to people “killing” them, not due to the mere passage of time, So Sylvanus could have made peace with some races, hidden away from the others while working on a more perfect solution to their dwindling population, but instead she decides to go out and kill people… or I mean “convert” people (she doesn’t see it as death, just a new life.) So people keep trying to kill the Forsaken… her chosen solution is not only obviously unnecessary, but it’s not even an actual practical solution to her peoples’ problem and risked making the problem worse. As I mentioned, Gelbin Mekkatorque and the Gnomes were in a similar situation but Gelbin chose to help other races and forge alliances, taking a long view of things despite the Gnomes being mortal (but relatively long-lived). You could say he got “lucky” finding the Mechagnomes, but as Buliwyf said “Luck ,often enough, will save a man, if his courage holds”. and that’s the difference… Sylvanas sees herself as a stoic problem-solver, but she lacks the courage to really solve problems with grace and often ends up making things worse for herself and the Forsaken because she made hasty (and bad) decisions.
Oh, I know for a fact she has been in her villain era since Arthas turned her, and is still in it atoning in the Maw. However, I think she is due for redemption. She is not quite the nasty piece of work that Garrosh was (spits on his grave), but she is a villain atm none the less.
She was good,
She became evil…
She broke being evil for a while or so she thought…
She becomes cra-cra evil.
Now she is in the Maw, returning souls, because of what others did to her.
Arthas was good,
Arthas became cra cra,
Arthas becomes evil…
Arthas gets nothing… his soul torn to bits, and this also was done to him.
Some really interesting comments in here.
Nonsense. The Foresaken were protecting themselves of the zealotry of the Alliance.
You cant have one without the other.
Yes. Garrosh was truly the best. A true warchief.

his soul torn to bits
not really torn to bits, he’s just stored in a bin in my covenant hall with all of the rest of my anima
