I’ve been playing for many years, and generally have a good feel for how the game works. I’m stumped on this and maybe it’s a product of taking the last year or so off, but it’s getting pretty frustrating and I’m hoping to understand if there’s a bug/known issue or if it’s something on my end.
I’ll be sitting in Valdrakken and see a world quest, lets say over in The Waking Shores, or maybe even just further north in Thaldraszus. I’ll click the quest so it sets an arrow on my mini map, and take off…I’ll hit as many speed boosts as I can flying toward it, but invariably it will disappear. I’ll know it’s gone because the arrow targeting the quest on my mini map just disappears. It even happened with Trial of Flood. I saw it on my map, flew to it, saw the elementals and then they all just disappeared and it was gone off the map.
Can anyone help me understand what gives?
i havent had a world quest pop up since i did them on tuesday and i disabled all my addons seeing if that would fix it but still no world quests pleas help!
World quests are weekly now. You won’t see them again until next Tuesday if you’ve already done them. My problem is slightly different. I see it there on the map to do, but as I move toward it it vanishes.
Twice-weekly, just to be clear. They haven’t told us why. But I think they want to move to a more flexible style of busy work where you don’t miss as much if you can’t log in one day.
Check to see if the Quest is a PVP or Warmode quest. If you leave Valdrakken and you are not in WarMode, the quest will disappear.

I was just now standing in Valdrakken, saw the quest, and looked it up on WoWhead. The comments there said the same thing. I then switched over here to update my post with the answer and saw your post. Thank you for taking the time to answer this!
