Disabling XP Gains on 110+ Characters

I think you should have put more thought into this. If you disable the cap at 110 then you effectively make someone blow past the expansion and do the raids at a higher level than intended. There are a community of players who like to experience the expansions at the levels it was designed for, and not a scaled and gutted experience. These people may be fond of legion and will be unable to cap their character at the max level of the expansion and play the content they enjoy, not just the current max-level content.

I think if you had talked about the repercussions as a whole, instead of quickly forcing a change, you might’ve come up with a different solution. This seems to be the theme this expansion. The easy solution to this problem that I can see, is for that everyone level 111 would be unable to turn their xp off and be grouped in the relevant BFA content (dungeons, island expedition, and a separate 111-119 BG bracket).

This way, people would be able to cap their characters at 110 and still experience legion the way it was meant to and have to quest to 111 to experience the BFA island expeditions and the dungeons. At this point, they should be doing BFA content and eventually would have to level to 120. This is reaching the same goal of not having level 110 boosting characters to 120 without leveling themselves and this would do so without cutting off an entire expansion worth of content.

As someone who uses the exp-off 111-119 PvP bracket, please find another solution.

I hate the current max level gear progression for PvP, because it incentivizes PvE and rated PvP to acquire and maintain competitive gear. I play on and off and do not want to feel obligated to do a series of weekly chores I don’t even enjoy (M+, raiding, etc) just to be viable in random Battlegrounds.

I’ve found it much easier to just turn off xp gains and do Timewalking at level 119 to get ilvl 300 gear and still enjoy random Battlegrounds.

I’m not using my character to power level other people or break the game. Please do not ruin the way I’m spending my sub money because of what some characters at 110 do.

If your zone scaling wasn’t so bad people wouldn’t do this. This is a game of character progression, you shouldn’t feel weaker as you level up.

Also, this happened all throughout legion as well - power leveling why is it all of a sudden a problem.

I am with you - another solution should be found. I am not powerleveling people either but I have to rely on my 110 DH to skin now because my feral is so crappy.

It’s also a bad idea to make the leveling process a dull experience that must be rushed through.

very true, I still have my 101 power leveling twink from Legion

So your solution was to ruin 110+ twinks for everyone because some of them were boosting players. You’d think if leveling via boosting was such a problem you would have done something about during Legion when it was far more prevalent.

Exactly! They could also do like i said, just make XP turn on in ALL BfA grouped content! Its pretty simple, but instead of using a scalpel, they take s SLEDGEHAMMER to the problem!

Please Dont.

I have two 120s, and have a few characters in a bunch of lower level brackets that I lock in for PvP.
I do not really enjoy my 120s in the current state of the game.
In the 111-119 bracket i’ve locked in several characters, and truthfully those are among the only characters that I WANT to play, including my Main Launch character.

I will likely not continue to sub if this happens as the part of the game I enjoy and am playing for atm will no longer exist.

Blizzard: “People are XP-locking their 110-115 characters to powerlevel their buddies, and this is bad.”

Community: “Our characters are legitimately weaker at 120 than 110-115 and feel awful to play, even with gear. We have expressed this since the beginning of the expansion. People probably would be helping their friends to level on level capped characters if those characters actually were considerably stronger at 120. Maybe fix mob scaling or character scaling.”

Blizzard: “Am I so out of touch?”

Blizzard: “…”

Blizzard: “… No, it’s the XP-locking players who are wrong.”

How can they say that is an exploit? That system turning off xp been in the game for awhile now. I don’t see it as an exploit. crazy. How about fixing the bugs that are in the game first before taking things away.

If the problem is powerlevel by islands do this: Characters with xp disabled cannot enter islands invasions. FIXED

Aren’t you the guy who derogatorily called someone “cupcake” earlier in the thread? There is hypocrisy and then there is this…

Nice to know all it takes is actibliz losing 50% of its market cap, to start listening to consumers.

Power creep is a terrible thing. I understand why you’re doing this, but I’m really not a fan. Turning off EXP should simply ding EXP gains in premade groups. I get that the current solution is easier, but this causes collateral damage. =/

Blizzard rarely changes their mind on stupid moves like this.

Here an actual suggestion. Reduce azerite gear level to 200 at 110. Scale it up till 120. Disable the traits till 111. Freeze HoA progression till 120, just like artifacts were.

The problem isn’t that geared low level toons were selling carries. That was the smokescreen.

The problem is that so many people have abandoned BfA content because there is no fun to be found there that it was starting to seriously impact their metrics. They figured that if they could force all the twinks to level up they would obediently start spamming high keys, mythic raiding, and grinding pointless rep.

Problem isnt solved. Define group content. People in this very thread say they like running legion dungeons at 110. Thats group content. Islands are also group content. As is Ataldazar. Or simply murdering rares in the overworld.
