Disabled Player -- Click-To-Move Alternative?

I have a friend who has nerve damage in her left hand (almost immobile), and as a result, has to play the game one handed. We have been doing casual bgs for about a year now, and recently, I was looking at options to improve her experience, because she has a very bad time with enemy players getting behind her in pvp.

I used to have click-to-move enabled on a warrior alt which I would dual-box and play with one-hand while using the other hand to play my main, so I thought click-to-move would certainly work for her here… The problem is, she plays a hunter, and even while in survival spec, the Interact With Target key behaves VERY differently than it does on a normal melee class (like my warrior)-- That is to say, it does not move the player into range of a hostile target, or turn the player to face a hostile target, AT ALL.

I imagine this is do to the coding on Blizzard’s end, where the game evaluates the player’s range of attack as ranged regardless of being survival spec.

She does not want to re-roll, so I am left scratching my head with regards to making tracking melee targets easier for her. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

That’s a tough one. Is using a controller an option? I’m not sure there’s a setting that would help, but she could use @player macros for traps and binding shot to create space and give her time to adjust.

Edit: the poster below remindede that foot pedals could be an option, too. There was an article on wowhead a while back about a guy that used them and tanked mythics. Might be an option for pvp.

weird as it may seem, maybe set up a joystick or something for them to operate with their feet for movement?(kinda like wasd) that way the mouse could be more for just spells and targetting.

edit: or their almost imobile hand if its more motor function, IE finger movements, a perma closed hand with good wrist movement could still rock a joystick

2nd edit after reading the guy above me commenting on my post. a joystick in the hand for wasd and pedals for the q/e strafing. you could have near normal movement with that set up, though would take time to get used to for sure

has she looked into the microsoft adaptive controller?
https://www.xbox.com/en-US/accessories/controllers/xbox-adaptive-controller

that paired with one of the controller addons might do the trick.

We started talking about macros recently, and we worked on a few together too! I also introduced her to addons recently, but I think she is a bit hesitant to install them due to having to move folders and things inside the WoW folder.

Found it.

Will be sure to mention it to her. Not sure what her finances are like though, and ik Logitech Pedals can be expensive…

Not entirely sure, but copy and pasting with crtl+c and crtl+v seems too difficult to do with the bad hand.

I will be sure to mention it to her, but her setup is pretty standard atm; Dell keyboard with an Alienware entry-level gaming mouse.

You might consider something like the Razer Nostromo.

EDIT: After looking at the Nostromo and the Razer Tartarus, neither appears to support right-hand use. There may be similar devices that can be used with the right-hand, but I didn’t see any.
