Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong section.
I am a long time World of Warcraft player who has rarely ever posted here. But as a disabled gamer, I thought I should voice my opinion on the state of the game going forward. There was a change made to the SecureActionButtonTemplate in the pre-patch that has broken old GSE macros. The way that they function now is super clunky, and not even doable if you use a controller with consoleport (how I am able to play). I realize many will want to pass the buck onto these adon makers to adapt and fix this issue. But the problem is, it wasn’t an issue until the pre-patch and the upcoming expansion. I really think this SecureActionButtonTemplate change should be reverted back to the way it worked before the pre-patch for macros. Otherwise, I and many others are dealing with a majorly broken and unplayable game. I love this game, I want to continue to play, but if over half of my character’s are broken for me?
TL:DR: Revert the SecureActionButtonTemplate back to the way it was before the pre-patch.

Does this addon have a community forum you can post on? Nobody here is going to be able to help as this is an issue with a 3rd party application.
That’s exactly what needs to happen. Pre-patch brought significant changes to the game infrastructure. Addon creators are working diligently to update their addons to work with the changes. Patience.

OP, I’m in the same situation as you. I’ve quit playing since I literally can’t do anything anymore. So you’re not alone.

Already looked into it with the adons. So far nothing. I realize patience is the key here, but this change I am referencing fundamentally changes SO much. Reverting things back would probably be the faster and easiest solution.
Blizzard probably won’t do that, most likely because they made the change to prevent some sort of botting…
But there is a post on the GSE github with a guide detailing how to set GSE up to work around it.

OP, forget the forums. You’ll get a bunch of naysayers.
Instead, follow this:
Your chances of getting a response from that process are much higher than getting one on the forums.

They broke what gse was not supposed to do, gse used a work around to bypass features that were not intended. Everything else should work as normal.

Unfortunately it doesn’t function with ConsolePort. Thank you though.

What exactly was this doing that it broke? Just curious really
It is how every BM hunter you’ve ever seen slams orange parses. It allows for an entire rotation to be put on a single button. Some classes hunter can really abuse it for free top damage others not so well. The function of how the macro within the addon is created has changed in a way that has lead to an overall revamp of their entire pseudo code language to build rotations.
MANY people with accessibility rely on this addon to flat play the game others to I guess go BRRRR? I personally use the addon for farming in the open world because an efficient rotation doesn’t matter and it cuts back heavily on hand fatigue.
A lot of the macros for the addon are deeply honed codes that now have to be rewritten to the new standard. It is truly unfortunate but the addon and macros will catch up to something comparable to the previous version.
Hmm, I get accessibility but that sounds more like cheating in some ways, though I doubt many classes would play too well, but who knows
