Come on. How is this griefing still a thing?
HGWT in Malygos room when people are expecting to be in the Hagara room was so funny in Dragon Soul LFR.
They shouldn’t really do that but look before you click.
Griefer mages put an Old Dalaran portal right on top of the food or healthstones pre-pull. Someone will be clicking there in the same fraction of a second. It’s not about looking before you click.
Lost a tank who died to the fall in Old Dal, got pissed (rightly), and left the group because he can get insta-ques. Everyone else - 39 people - had to sit around for 10 minutes waiting on a new tank. Scintillating player interaction mechanics.
LOL I remember playing portal roulette before they added the long cast times, good times. Any who just kick the troll from the group, I remember a group of mages that took turns on jaina with casting hero on pull which caused her to ice block. Eventually got the group to vote them out so we could actually kill the boss, given they were also intentionally messing up the mechanics to throw the pulls.
Trolling has become less frequent too IMO, although I mostly stay out of queued content currently, yet with the new terms and social contract that’s being enforced. Trolls are getting suspended and banned now so they’ve dialed back their actions a lot as a result.
Lol why click it!!’ You don’t have to click it lol I’ve been in a few raids where someone put a few up and others click it then crack it … I don’t understand lol
uhm…40 man raids havent been around since end of vanilla…what are you talking about. and yes this is hilarious.
That’s right, people just port now don’t need a mage any more for this, sad point. I can understand the frustration in a raid on that. One reason I never used portals that way especially on our realm . Don’t want guilds to get mad at you for playing with them that way.
Old Dalaran portal leads people to death.
It’s pretty sad that this is how they get attention, but like others have said, look before you click.
That Old Dalaran portal, combined with slow fall is actually useful for travelling to the area. Especially at Hallow’s End and Winterveil for Alliance.
It’s amazing how quickly some people get triggered. How about disabling portals altogether? Make portals for the mage alone and nobody can be griefed!
er… ya, oops. OG brain took over there.
And no, it’s not hilarious. It just wastes everyone’s time while you summon everyone back at best.
i still want to know what you need a 40 man raid for besides alterac valley and maybe a pvp city raid.
Or disable tables in LFR.
Yes I joke. Chill.
Yes, I just pointed out that I typed the wrong number.
but i am still curious as to how many it was.
It was current LFR. My brain pulled up the wrong number from old raids. You have cut straight to the heart of the issue. Thank you.
Most likely carryover from Everquest given most of the early wow team came over from that game. Bosses were designed around 40 players, just like how Mythic bosses are now designed around 20 players. Raid bosses weren’t flexible health/damage like they are now.
For reference EQ had 60 or 72 person raids at one point, IIRC.
Portal roulette is a time honored tradition in LFR.
And also during guild runs on a normal raid night or alt raid night.
Not to mention the swap blaster to get people pulled to an edge so they run/fall off into the lava.
Good times!

Can’t have fun anymore, everyone gets offended and calls you toxic.
