Disable covenant dungeon benefits in m+

This is a balancing nightmare and completely against the spirit of Bring the player.

Blizzard you’re already going to be trying to balance the below in m+:

  1. Tank Balance
  2. Healer Balance
  3. DPS Balance
  4. 4 separate Covenants for all the above
  5. Conduits
  6. Legendaries

Don’t add to this gigantic laundry list by allowing one covenant to buff stats by 10%. You are not capable of this and it’s going to end up with even more player apathy than you’re already going to have.

This will specifically force groups to look for (LF1M DPS Night Fae), you’re going to make groups rule our 3 other covenants just so they can get skips/buffs. You might as well scrap the MDI if you’re going to go down this path.

It’s so obvious you’re hellbent on destroying the competitive m+ scene.

At least Tol Dagor had profession keys you could use to open the doors in place of a rogue, what does this have?

In before the GD people that cry over RaiderIO “gatekeeping” groups but are going to praise Blizzard for putting in systems that are “gatekeeping” groups.

It’s going to be hilarious for the first few weeks as push groups figure out what the strongest class compositions are that can get their best m+ covenants and also have the split of all 4 covenants so you don’t have a dungeon you get 10% less stats because… of… meaningful… choices?

It’s just getting stupidly ham fisted at this point.

These defensive design decisions indicate to me they’re full aware this system is gonna be a disaster.

Sorry Tynst, you weren’t invited to this dungeon because that meaningful choice you made 24 hours into the expansion releasing doesn’t bring good enough utility to this dungeon to be worth bringing you over the Warlock who is the right covenant we are missing.

Like COME On BLIZZARD ON WHAT PLANET IS THAT HEALTHY.

I think we can say that this mindset was scrapped a long time ago

Doesn’t this kind of thing happen now but for other reasons? /shrug

All these decisions seems like Blizz is trying to fulfill the promise to make picking comps for group play tough for the lead. Is this the way to do it? I agree I’m suspect.

It does, for a lot of pug groups they’d pick the meta for their team. Some didn’t care and would invite whatever.

Now because of this groups would be insane to not invite a person of Covenant X (for dungeon Y) otherwise they miss out on Buffs/Skips etc.

I agree but I think Blizz sees it as you’ll pick the non meta Class over whatever the FOTM is because of the power gain if the have the right Covenant.

Remember how much everyone despised the fact that you needed a rogue for Tol Dagor? Blizzard took that feedback and did what they do best - the opposite of what we asked for.

Now you’ll need a specific covenant for every dungeon in game. Yay  can’t wait to wait an extra 20 minutes in Q for a decent night fae of the spec I need

Why? Can just wait a couple minutes and get both lol.

This reminds me of that one conversation where…

Preach: “I don’t see how increasing exclusion possibilities - cause there’s more points of failure now - increases the ability of people pugging to not be judged.”
Ion: vaguely agrees to it all but then “…there’s nuanced aspects to it”

Haha man, that whole interview was a clown fiesta.

Red Shirt Guy was wrong. Shadowlands is the out-of-season April Fools’ joke.

It really is amazing watching Blizzard drive their train straight into a wall.

They are creating this hilariously impossible task for themselves to keep everything balanced when they didn’t do any balancing for basically all of BFA.

Why does anyone think this is gonna be any different. Outliers like IT Mistweavers and on release EV will get sledgehammer nerfed, but if you’re way way over the top the strongest will remain the strongest all expansion.

Hell, balancing wouldn’t even matter if they didn’t keep trying to FoMO people.
I’ve pushed content with non optimal setups before, but I wasn’t going to miss out on anything if I didn’t make it - just my own pride and bragging rights.

RIP people who pug stuff like Keystone Master though.
They’re absolutely screwed.

I really hope realises Blizzard just keep punishing pug players, maybe it’s Blizzards underlying belief that everyone should be in a big guild with lots of players to play with.

If all the bonuses are as strong as what NF get in MoTS, then recruiting PuG’s purely for the utility is going to be the norm, not the exception.

It’ll be like people in Tol Dagor looking for a Rogue, except for EVERY dungeon.

I think it will be fine if they make it so each of the covenants add buff to the party (Stacking) Encouraging people to bring one of each covenant to the party. Completely destroying anyone’s plans to leave any particular covenant out.
