I notice that when i use wow.exe compatibility with windows 8 is set DX11 as default with no more options.. when i disable compatibility mode on wow.exe .. it let me change to DX12.. when i do that and then i restart the game and i get a black screen.. so DX12 is the problem… D: any ideas what i can do?

You didn’t even mention what video card and model. Some cards that were DX 12, were not 100% compliant.
If it doesn’t work in DX12 then run it in DX11. It might take a bit, like video driver updates for DX12 to work for you.

Erm which operating system did you say you were using ?
Dx12 is only available on windows 10. Compatibility mode will render it unavailable.
