I wish the language filter substituted “smurf” for all the swear words.
That too big an ask when they’re making mods to play the game for me. I love that I can literally now fall asleep with my nose on the action key and raid.
They don’t “have to” do anything. They don’t need to design some wickedly complex mechanic like Volcanic Heart or Jailer Bombs.
If the boss is like a 100 pull boss, who cares? Gallywix is a total joke of a boss right now but I think that’ll be an overall net positive for Mythic raiding this season.
I respectfully disagree with removing any ADDON support. The Addon creators who made WoW more enjoyable and better for millions of players since WoW came out should be rewarded and appreciated, not thrown under the bus! How ungrateful and rude!
Sure, Blizzard can implement some new alternative, optional features, but should not do away with Addons. Blizzard should focus on improving the game and storyline much more, not undermining the Addons that have been tremendously helpful and useful to all WoW players, because Blizzard failed to provide these quality of life and essential features in the game over time.
Blizzard should be considerate and mindful of this and focus their efforts on improving the game bugs and storyline before even venturing into this area. Even Ion is in no rush to implement this, but I do undertsand their reason to eventually give players another option that maybe better. But again, if anything, Blizzard should consider teaming up with Addon creators instead and not undermine them.
Here’s three (3) suggestions for Blizzard to improve and make WoW even better:
Blizzard can add and create a new profession or sub-profession that allows players to make color dyes that can be used to customize armor and all gear color - including weapons and shields etc. or create a game mechanical feature that allows the player to use a machine type object in the game via an NPC and for a price players can customize the color of their armor and gear! This would be super cool, fun and awesome! Blizzard can do the same for players to give their mounts different colors, too!
Blizzard should focus on the storyline of the game to make WoW more immersive when it comes to the actual overall story. This would be great, too!
Blizzard should also fix outstanding bug issues in the game and add Portals to old raids and dungeons that don’t have it to make the experience more pleasant for all players.
These are the three (3) things Blizzard should focus on, not Addons or less important things in the game. These 3 things can make a huge and positive impact in the game as well.
Just sharing my thoughts and suggestions on this subject as WoW happens to be one of my favorite games of all time. WoW never gets old. It’s still awesome, epic and fun, especially Undermine!. Cheers! and Happy gaming all - JJ -
Why not just end the arms race? We installed the addons to feel more powerful relative to the content. There’s enough scaling in this game as it is with all old content being level scaled now, we don’t need enemies scaling to our addons any more.
Well, Blizzard didn’t remove Kelili. They just provided their own in-house alternative which can do things Kelili can’t do.
If you had said Blizzard is going to do the same with other addons, you might have a point. If you had said Blizzard might buyout some addon products, you might also have a point. But remove all addons, no.
I have no idea. I know Ion says stuff, and sometimes it happens, and sometimes it doesn’t. So it’s a toss up imo. I do think they’re attempting to shift things to be more accessible with the 1 button rotation and rotation helper. To me those prove they’re moving in a different direction. I don’t think they like how powerful weak auras is.
Give it some time. Clearly the direction theyre going is simplifying mechanics, disabling some addons, then putting in their own features…that way they can better control any escalation between players overusing addons then crying the game is ‘too easy’, and devs trying to make the game challenging
I hope you’re wrong because If Bliz bans all add-ons it will ruin wow. Period. Full stop.
If they banned add-ons I would be the first to cancel & walk away for good. I dont use any add-on that is game breaking - they’re just to organize the multitude of things that help improve my game experience. Such as stupid stuff like …
" where is that one mount I like to use …oh, let me pause my game and spend. 15 minutes manually looking through all 500 mounts that I have"
nah…they are going to simplify mechanics so you dont need any more than what the game will offer for features.
This escalating war between weakauras and devs trying to keep one step ahead of it so everyone has some level of challenge needs to stop.
the ONLY way to stop it is to disable the addons that trivialize mechanics, offer what the company wants used instead…and then make it challenging in line with that instead of having addon makers be the ones in control
I suggest everone here actually look at the links I posted above…Ion is VERY clear in the matter.
maybe not all addons but combat addons are bad for the game, the reason they exist should be fixed and when thats fixed then remove the addon, as for the ones designed for normal mode content and heroics? fully remove em from the game imo. noone needs something that tells em “hey fire bad bro” its a moronic take to defend that
