Dinars: Trade Heroic Version for Mythic Later

Can we please trade a heroic version into a mythic version later on after we kill the boss. Its not like we can wear 2 of these at a time, we should be able to trade the heroic item into mythic version once the required boss is killed. With a lot of guilds still progressing it feels awful sitting on these. There is too much borrowed power with this week and the raid consumable buff and 12 percent around the corner. I bet a lot of guilds are being told not to buy anything.

Why do you need the mythic version?

Can just not accept the quests until youve killed what you wanted, that way you can then just get the mythic version

No, this is actually a valid point. Guilds pushing mythic getting the heroic version of Jastors, for example, could be the push they need to clear Mythic, but then they wasted dinars on a Heroic version of Jastors. So the decision was to either save the dinars for the mythic version, or sacrifice some to help push.

Yeah, mechanical execution is more important than an increase in DPS, but it’s also true that a DPS increase helps push phases faster so that there are less mechanics to potentially screw you up.

Sadly, I don’t think there’s anything that can really be done, as you’d have to have a system specifically in place that identifies that this particular Jastors was a Dinar purchase, etc. It’s probably doable, almost certainly is, but I wouldn’t expect Blizzard to go through the effort of that.

Also got an ilvl increase. Much bigger dps increase. Save the dinars

Do people really think it’s unreasonable being able to upgrade from hero track to myth track later after killing the relevant boss? It should 100% be a thing since each character only gets 3 purchases total.

Uh, no. At this point in the season it is not gear that’s preventing it. It’s skill.

Try reading the rest of my post…

Again, the system is bad luck protection. It is not intended for gear progression. This is a trade off that you’re going to have to make if you’re likely to want to use your tokens for an item on a boss you may kill soon.

If you’re likely to kill mythic gally, maybe don’t buy the heroic version right away. As per the earlier post, the extra 0.5% damage (which is what the gain would be if you’re around 672-3) is not going to make or break fights at this point. Player power jumped significantly this week too so keep practicing the mechanics.

If you only need to kill a boss once to get access to its whole loot table, is it really bad luck protection?

Something stinks about it…

“Bad luck, the boss didn’t drop 50 pieces of loot off one kill.”

Look, that’s valid criticism. I don’t think requiring more at this stage of the season would really work though. Guilds still progging are extending lockouts for one - they aren’t going back to clear sprocket 2 more times. Two - these items may not drop even if you do kill them, and each one might have 5-15 people who’d use it. Thirdly - the BLP could be for the slot. There are other items, but killing the boss expands the choices you have to replace, say, a mid trinket.

I think it’s a valuable compromise between nothing and giving everyone access to the best loot they’d have had 0% chance at winning before. Whether it should require 1 kill or 3 is a reasonable debate that IMO is a factor of timing because this is coming in hot in the second half of the season.

This is not BLP, this is loot unlocking. Deterministic loot, lets call it what it is.

So you bypass the integrity of raiding by essentially giving the best loot to those who would have probably never got their hands on their desired item because their performance or other factors would have placed them to the bottom of the priority list.

You are essentially using a fact (many items are indeed in high demand) to justify a mechanic (easy access) that completely contradicts the competitive context you described.

So we are talking about a mid-season gearing bandaid or pity trinket fiesta? Sounds about right.

Which makes this whole thing even more bewildering that M+ players are left in the dust like that.

This has nothing, nothing whatsoever to do with BLP.

Its not. You have to kill the boss before you get access to its loot table. Thats not how deterministic gearing works

You uphold the integrity by requiring the player to do the raiding (mythic), in order to get the items (mythic).

Hero gear is a dime a dozen. Acquired by delves even

looke at 640 alt who picked up a hero track m+ trinket today from doing m+

Has everything to do with it

I think there are M+ trinkets on the vendor. I also think very high level keys should drop myth gear so the only source isn’t the great vault each week.

Personally, I didn’t ask for the system. I think rare items should stay rare so I seeing someone with one is a special occasion and is something to strive for. At the same time, if there’s one slot you need to replace that just never drops, there should be a way to get it eventually. Maybe the loot tables should be changed to always drop a jastors or trinket. Or drop an omnitoken for other slots. :man_shrugging:t2:

Okay lets do this.

this is textbook false equivalence. deterministic loot means player agency (although knowing that a lot of people will just get boosted, so saying this is funny) overrides the RNG loot system.

Saying that “you still have to kill the boss” is semantic smokescreen. You are basically saying that a fridge is not a fridge because you have to open the door to get the cold food from there… Yes. but its a fridge.

I am speaking about design flaws re raid loot accessibility vs M+…

So minimum wage is fair because someone somewhere once won the lottery?

rhetorical stonewalling. like admitting defeat

Good luck, friendo. Grizzle is one of those types that won’t listen to reason even with hard evidence and solid logic presented to them.

Its not…youre changing, or not understanding, how deterministic looting works. Determinstic is all items available from the get go, simply restricted by cost

This is not that. The items themselves are restricted to boss kills with a constant cost currency.

LFR vs m0 = heroic
All 12s timed vs 4 Mythic bosses = mythic

You not understanding what BLP is not stonewalling lol

Yes and my microwave is a gourmet chef. Enjoy the loots and boosts.

And there it is. Off topic unrelatedand irrelevant posts. Just like admitting defeat

Just to help ya out
