For so many seasons now, the fact that you can only get your BIS myth-track trinket from dungeons only means you rely on RNG from vault - and it’s the only way it comes in. You can’t get it anywhere else!
Unlike raids where you can trade if it drops and or have multiple chances of dropping from same boss- you simply rely on vault. Countless seasons I’ve been all max gear with heroic bis trinkets at the end of season.
It’s happened every time - and something like a mega dungeon drop only (season 3 DF. Mirror trinket (where it didn’t even drop from vault), we’ll just ask any hunter or DK how much of a struggle that was. No one wanted to even do all 8 bosses only to get heroic gear trinket. The whole thing was horrific experience.
I’m glad they are bringing back dinars for raid but this has to be applied for dungeon trinkets as well. I’m so tired of having heroic bis trinket only bc I never got the mythic skardyns grace or gales (healers) from vault! (And it’s still true to this day and I am 639 ilvl).
I know for the majority there is only a slight difference between heroic and mythich gear and that’s fine, they can farm their heroic gear. But for us that want to min-max and push 12+ keys, etc. We have no current system outside of an RNG god vault to give us our BIS trinkets. You can’t trade it. You can’t get it from raid. You can’t get it drop multiple chances from boss. You can’t even get it from the dungeons itself. You can ONLY get it from being lucky to show up in vault as one of the 3 items out of the 100+ items you can get from vault drop once a week.
Please blizz take this into account for us min maxers!

Ya know, I’m not too sure how I feel about what you’re suggesting…but at the same time I’m still sitting over here without a Mark of Khardros and it’s about to be the new year already…
Why? You can farm a dungeon until you get it. Dinars system only exist because you couldn’t even attempt at a trinket for 2/3 of the time, not because luck didn’t go your way.

You can’t farm mythic trinkets from dungeons. It only comes from the RNG gods from vault.

you can’t farm a myth track item from a dungeon

Totally blanked on that part, my bad. That’ll teach me to only pay attention to title.

Yea. It’s such a pain literally every season and it’s the one thing everyone cannot seem to the get because they are unlucky. It’s so frustrating especially cuz trinkets are what makes output way more significant.
The difference between a myth track and heroic track trinket is a lot less than people think.
Then why would there even be a need for mythic track items or mythic raid if that just going to be the logic? For end game players - it means a lot.
How do I know? Because in the rare chance a myth track dungeon bis trinket drops- you are taking it no matter what. No matter even if you don’t have a 4 piece or have a 100Ilvl upgrade- you are taking myth track trinket from dungeon. You will never see it again.

Yeah like 13 ilvl. But the request is a bit more legit than I first gave it credit. Though I still doubt it’s ever gonna happen because even when dinars are available, it isn’t for m+ and all the dungeons are readily available.
Right - hence the request to open it for dungeon gear. The entirely of Dragonflight and even season 1 tww I have not been able to complete my mythic bis trinkets bc both of them drop from dungeons. That should mean something.
Not saying it has zero value. I’m saying that people put too much value in the difference between a myth track trinket and a heroic track version. Largely its a 1-2% difference. Its more important that you have the trinket more than anything else.
That difference isn’t going to be you getting CE or M+ title.
Pretty much. Dinars were a stop gap because it was physically impossible to run multiple raids in the hightened item level version each week.
Adding them in the 11.1 raid (I believe Data Mining has shown we’ll only get 1 per character) IMO is a big mistake.
Agreed but it shouldn’t be solely to chance to maximize your gear. They are bringing back dinars for this exact rational of eliminating RNG only. They should expand it to dungeon gear and do it properly.
Ahh the chase for the mythical BiS, that hasn’t been realistically obtainable (or even necessary) since checks notes Cataclysm?
Trust me, stop worrying about trying to hit this unobtainable goal, and just roll with the punches and what RNG gives you. You so many avenues to obtaining a similar gear set.
Why just cataclysm, wasn’t it theoritically impossible since the very beginning? Hell, one thinks with only 2 pieces of gear for 40 players, would have been even harder to get it in vanilla.
Things like Thunderforged/Warforged in MoP threw it all out in MoP. The chances of every piece getting to max ilvl was an impossible endeavor.
Than once Shadowlands killed the “Forging system” M+ and the great vault put dungeon loot with max ilevel behind a once a week attempt.
Cataclysm was the last time BiS was really obtainable by players.
The shaman in my push group got Mythic Sacbrood (back when Haste was OP for them).
Running the SIMC it was better than anything else he got then and has got since.
I think there’s a lot of validity in your suggestion RE: Dinars for M+ items too but I suspect they will just push it aside because ‘we get a lot’ or something.

That’s only for dungeon still though. Isn’t it very possible in raids?
And yet what is the sim margin between sacbrood hero 6/6 and myth 6/6?
Except most of the BiS trinkets only often come from dungeon. The last entirety of expansion in DF, BOTH of my BIS trinkets only came from dungeons. Trinkets are the bread and butter of most DPS output in most classes, so it is significant.
anddd again - Yep, still no myth-track skardyn’s grace this week again. I’m pushing 13 keys, Good luck again next week. I probably won’t get it ever this season (as usual).

For the same item of 13 ilvls at the moment, I wouldn’t imagine it would be very much.
Just simmed it:
A 0.73% difference.
