Doesnt make any sense. Our world soul senses he’s coming. How can he be dead?
Sargeras was “dead” for the entirety of the RTS era.
Hint: entities as powerful as Titans and Void Lords probably never permanently die.
It was never said that Azeroth sensed that Dimensius was coming.
It was Locus Walker who likened the Radiant Song we heard from Azeroth to the one that the K’areshi heard from K’aresh before Dimensius’ arrival. He further speculated that the Radiant Song was in response to Xal’atath and her goal to bring the same end to Azeroth.
However we haven’t heard from Azeroth as to why she sent out the song.
Technically speaking, its an assumption that azeroth even sent the radiant song
I think from patch notes, Dimensius’ allies/servants are trying to resurrect him using arcane magic (the raid is in a giant facility for that purpose).
Perhaps the Radiant Song is a product of the Light. Beledar is connected to the Light at least partially (it even has patterns on its facets that look like Naaru, and swings between Light and Void when damaged like they do).
In fact the only time we (the audience) hear Azeroth is when she tells Magni to use his powers to save the Earthen in the Halls of Awakening.
I think it is very telling that Magni did not hear the Radiant Song while he was still Azeroths Speaker. I mean if she was in such a fear of the void compared to the other cosmic threats that have sought to either kill or claim her (i.e. Sargeras and Zovaal), why hold it from Magni? Given that the reason why she “awoke” Magni was to inform us the true stakes at play if we fall to the Legion’s third invasion.
Azeroth logic if the Radiant Song is from her
Sargeras wants to convert me into one of his Dark Titans? Must awaken this diamond dwarf and have him tell everyone what I am and what is at stake.
Xal’atath is now free from the blade and maybe fulfilling her duty as Dimensius’ herald? Play a vague song and completely ghost said Diamond Dwarf until a large group of Earthen might become cursed void creatures.
Anduin says it comes from Beledar.
Since K’aresh’s World Soul remnant is inside the Dark Heart she might have even drained it from Beledar which means the Light saved the World Soul and made off with it.
This may be Blizzard’s tie into the popular belief that the Chronicle claims Titans are shards of Light from the Great Clash of Light vs Void(actually the Chronicle only lists Naaru as an example and treats Titans as a more mysterious anomaly).
Titans in this version made by Blizzard from reading the Wiki are beings of Order who found their way into Planets but some like Aman’Thul and K’aresh needed to be rescued by the Light and when the Great Clash between Light and Void happened the shards containing the Titans were returned to the Great Dark Beyond.
Are you saying that the Titans were rescued by the Light? iirc, the Titans hold it in high regard.
It feels so wrong that one of my headcanons is the same as Yven’s.
Oh, wow. Yeah, this … makes zero sense now with the upcoming patch.
Locus-Walker knows Xal’atath opposed Dimensius, knows why K’aresh really exploded, and knows Dimensius was shattered and scattered to the cosmic wind.
Void Lords : They are driven by an insatiable hunger for existence; to bring void-torment into reality, they must continue consuming once manifested
Perhaps the Radiant Song is the friends we made along the way.
Now that you say it, yeah. This was the convo, as a refresher:
Locus-Walker: The radiant visions you spoke of are the very same my people had…
Locus-Walker: …before our world was consumed by the Void Lord Dimensius.
Alleria Windrunner: What?! You don’t think…
Alleria Windrunner: Could Xal’atath be seeking that same fate for Azeroth?
Locus-Walker: I fear that is precisely what she intends.
PTR spoilers for anyone keeping away from that I guess:
Summary
It was kept a secret from the general ethereal population, but Locus-Walker knows full well that Xal betrayed Dimensius, and moreover that he was the one who blew up K’aresh to stop Dimensius. There was no reason here for him to think she’s working for Dimensius again.
Locus-Walker could have merely seen it as Xal’atath wanting to consume Azeroth for herself or something.
Alternatively it was a sudden narrative shift to have Xal’atath betray Dimensius in the past and they either forgot or don’t give a damn about what was established prior in the Harbringer questline. I mean the Shadowguard are now against Xal’atath but they worked for her in the Harbringer questline?
We know Blizzard is willing to do this on a patch by patch basis. Look at the Stoneweight and her origins in Shadowlands.
9.0: She is one of the original Venthyr made by Daddy D
9.1: She is actually one of the first mortal souls to be made into a Venthyr, and she was a former Night Warrior.
I mean yeah that’s what I assumed, standard Blizzard operating procedure.
Well, it could be Azeroth knows what became of K’aresh as the Prime World Soul… perhaps they have some means of talking to one another. I believe back in Legion she also sensed Argus also.
Xal has either one of two goals to my mind:
- Use Azeroth to become the ultimate god of gods, so that no one can ever try to command her again.
- Use Azeroth to delete the Void itself out of some desire to get vengeance for what it made her into, much like she used the lesser world soul of K’aresh to blow up her Void Lord master.
no way anything not a raid boss is coming out from a strange song
I wonder if this would be explained in the Ghosts of K’aresh campaign.
Though with how the void betrays one another, I figure that the Shadowguard saw the chance to claim the Dark Heart themselves and just sent for it, discarding their alliance with Xal’atath in the process.
Or Nexus King Salhadaar was resurrected between those two points and pieced together that Dimensius’ herald betrayed him. Hence why he would hire Ky’veza to undermine Xal’ataths efforts with the Nerubians.
Ky’veza seems to be a mercenary that happens to work with the Shadowguard as they pay her the most. Much like how Imonar was a bounty hunter who worked for the Legion because they paid him well. Given that she remarks that she gets paid regardless if we kill Ansurek instead of her.
Although her title being Nexus Princess might imply some… familial connection to Salhadaar. As would it be for the two Nexus Princes, Razann and Bibaal.
