You have to phase it to the old version of Uldum for them to pop up. There will be an npc like Zidormi or the like somewhere in the zone

Basically, if you’re fishing for canopic jars I think you’re better off digging in MOP, Draenor or even Kultiras/Zandalar and trading pieces for tol vir crates.

Speaking of digsites I feel bad for Iraq when thousands of Iraq’s archaeological artifacts were looted and Iraq’s archaeological sites were destroyed during the US invasion of Iraq. What happened? Peace be upon the world.

Personally, I was grinding out the Seeker of Knowledge title, and just converted all my crates into Tolvir crates. That’s how I got my mount.
Uldum digsites are so rare, and you basically have to clear ALL of Kalimdor for them to pop up, grinding out Tolvir fragments the normal way is an absurd grind.

Yeah. Doing MoP or Draenor digsites and trading in the crates is WAY more efficient if you’re trying to to farm Canopic Jars.
Legion’s weekly rotation things were interesting. I could understand the complaints about them, but at least they tried something. Archaeology in BfA was a complete afterthought. They dropped some digsites in Zuldazar and Kul Tiras and then completely ignored it for the entire expansion.
Like, how do you add a patch with Nazjatar and Mechagon, an ancient Night Elf city and a technological junkyard, and not think to do something involving digging up old stuff there? Just completely abandoned.

My biggest gripe with Nazjatar. I would have accepted night elf and suramar fragments, would have made sense.
I’ve been slowly working on it for the 100 BFA digsites achieve, and putting those towards troll crates. Still missing the sword.
Might have helped slightly if there were any rewards worth going for.
Like… I think there was a semi-interesting pet in the table, but nothing worth grinding for.
The trinkets are a nice ilvl boost to prop alts up for wqs.
And then nada.
