Digging the changes

I’m seeing a lot of people posting angry or negative threads but honestly, I really like the changes.

BM is way too much fun right now. They gave us back a lot of fun tools. I love spin kicking groups to hold aggro instead of waiting for barrel and fire to come back.
ToD I laugh every time the boss goes poof.

MW is also in a good place. Good rotation with a lot of fun tools. Yes the numbers are going to take a hit but we’ll see what happens next patch.

Overall 2 of the 3 are strong. WW is the only spec where it won’t find a place end game right now. Why? The base line game play. Animations either need to be shorter or the numbers from our white dmg needs to go way up.

Keep your heads up! Monk is in a great place moving forward. Even without our azerite powers(which we get back in the conduit system).

I agree.

BM is the best it has been in over 4 years.

Honestly all three specs feel great. MW and WW just need a little number tuning. WW needs some buffs to single target damage so a buff to RSK, BoK, or even Tiger Palm would put it where it needs to be. SEF has bugs but they don’t seem to occur for me as frequently as other posters seem to suggest.

MW just needs a buff to raid healing and a reduction to mana costs on some spells.

I disagree. Numbers buff would be nice, but there are other things that could’ve/should’ve been done.

if you disagree so strongly, please elaborate

Honestly, you should be more worried for MW than WW. WW will always have a place in m+ and pvp. Can’t say the same about MW

I can’t speak for anything but BFA and prepatch, but MW has been pretty solid for both M+ and raiding (at least up to heroic raiding as I haven’t healed at mythic raiding level). I know logs currently show MW at the bottom, but if you look more carefully logs really only indicate priest and shamans are overtuned compared to druid, paladin, monk. Someone has to be bottom and unfortunately that is currently MW. Which is the reason I already mentioned they need a buff to raid healing, but more importantly priests (both specs) and shamans need to be tuned to be more in line with every other healer.

I find all the specs very fun to play personally, I just hope they do decent enough numbers in SL.

A numbers buff would be a bandaid fix. There are other issues with WW at hand, as well as changes that could be made that would buff our damage instead of changes that are just numbers.

A large issue is Xuen. Despite the WW community’s repeated complaints about pet AI, here we are in prepatch with a new pet tied to our CDs. Aside from Xuen just having bad AI, we’re getting Gale Burst windows tied to him further on as we get to 60. In simple terms we traded ToD burst for Xuen as burst, but now with more pet AI that I’m pretty sure no one wanted. It would have been simpler/more efficient to just let him be a 2min big nuke in a global. Or just to not have touched that area at all.

And speaking of Xuen. One of the reasons that has been voiced to me about Xuen being implemented is that apparently we wanted our secondary stats to mean more. Xuen would make haste more valuable to us. And to that I say, we can make secondary stats more valuable to us through other means. The Xuen’s Battlegear legendary could have been that, but Blizzard made it the post-nerf version of the set combo instead of pre-nerf. If it were pre-nerf every WW using would stack crit to 35% and then divy up secondary stats to vers and mast because it would force the set to work.

WW talents could use work. They basically haven’t changed.

WW animations could use work. There are a lot of animations gathering dust that could be used. Hell, Blizz could just double the animation speed of most of our spells and it’d feel impactful.

There’s also the matter of FoF doing half damage to 2ndary targets even though with target capping coming in SL, it’d make sense to get rid of that.

Our PvP talents are laughably uninspired considering how much creative space we have.

Etc.

So yea. There is work to be done.

What “place”does ww have? MW abd brm dumpstered on WW this season. WW this expac hasn’t been in a spot where anyone wanted them for keys.

They were pretty godly in pvp, as was MW.

MW was completely useless as was WW this entire patch in PVE.

Not gonna disagree with that. However, we were largely overshadowed by firemage, sin rogue, and destro. MW was strong because it could keep up with locks and mages giving people a bad case of sudden explosions.

They were literally meta in the MDI for a couple of seasons?

Idk wod s1 and bfa s1 disagree

Didnt WW/Fire mage dominate every tournament?

i dont think s1 means anything. it was completely unbalanced. and WW had just lost FoF stun and hadnt yet received turbo fists so people could walk out of your main damage. Not really a fair assessment of WW. They tried to remove CC from FoF and it failed. I dont see them doing that again

I mean that’s still 2 launch patches that we sucked and had to wait for fixes, so kind of kills the always

MW In keys did pretty well this season, in the first season of SL we are looking to be strong very strong also. Same with in raid. With how current WW is, they will be around the sameish area they are in now for SL.

Finally some positivity!

I like the changes also. Been a brewmaster since legion and liking the way things look so far.

Although Ironskin brew was burnt into my brain so hard that I’m only just now unlearning pressing that button every six seconds or so :stuck_out_tongue:
