Difficulty increase for tier 4+ delves

How do you fail a delve, but still complete it?

I swear, I only ever see you posting or replying to players to complain about something or be rude.

Wouldnā€™t this just be to keep it inline with the ilvl boost for S2 gear? Or are they actually increasing the relative difficulty of delves moving forward? The former seems obvious the later seems ridiculous.

Then why would they mention this for delves but not mythic plus or raids? Itā€™s specifically delves.

And tiers 4+, thats oddly specific if we are just talking about a seasonal increase across the board.

Rofl no. Be thankful you get heroic track due to how easy they are.

The point of the higher tiers in a challenge mode is to be difficult. Itā€™s why delves cap at heroic.

Can someone please clarify for me what the situation will be with gearing? Is the overall ilvl going up but Delves are capped at 616? Will world quests give better gear than delves at a certain point? Not sure how this works on the gear treadmill or if thereā€™s a point in gearing past 616 since I mostly play solo

World quests will give the gear necessary to start doing the delves in season 2 along with the story quests

M+ and raids are different. They are creating a new raid and dungeon roster at higher difficulties so mentioning it isnā€™t necessary. They are reusing the same delves so it is worth mentioning. They specify 4+ because they arenā€™t increasing the difficulty of 1-3. Those tiers are for leveling and for fresh 80s so they shouldnā€™t be increased.

Everything goes up. T8+ will drop Champion 2 (639) with Hero 1 (649) from the vault. T8-11 will drop increasing quantities of runed crests, up to 13 per full clear for t11. You also get up to 31 gilded crests per week from t11 between direct drops and delver bounty.

Delves wereā€¦ kind of in an awkward spot for a chunk of season 1; they were a way to very quickly get a bunch of Champion and even heroic peices with minimal effort as well as flooding your vault with 616 options (some of which were incredibly competetive; the 619 ritual knife I have outperforms a bunch of other trinkets for my survival hunter even if I scale alternatives into the 630s)ā€¦ but at the same time Delves were also not terribly rewarding WRT crests and valor stones so players could potentially get 4 pieces of gear everyday for as long as their keys held out and get a bunch of champion 3/8 pieces but not have the requisite materials to push them up.

As such, Delves needed to be reworked so that the reward reflected the relative challenge of the content (which was relatively free for a lot of DPS that had a Bran in healer mode).

As such: Iā€™m fine with these changes.

Because they donā€™t scale up the season 1 raid or season 1 dungeon pool, they add a new raid and a new dungeon pool that are both scaled higher than the previous season.

Delves are new so they are spelling it out - also T4+ is because 1-3 is for leveling while 4+ is end-game seasonal content for 80s, would be kind of stupid to scale 1-3 up too since levelers arenā€™t getting a gear increase in the new season.

If you still get credit for the vault, then yeah you do. Vault slots are a higher level than whatever you did to unlock them for both dungeons and delves. Only raids arenā€™t boosted.

Delves were and likely will again be the major source of valorstones due to echoes of azeroth. People just didnā€™t use what they had / group up for them.
