Blizzard says a lot of things. Are you doing T8s in 5-10 minutes on characters that actually benefit from them? Have you at any point this season?
T8s are gonna run you 15 minutes minimum on a toon that can actually gain something from them ime. Unless it’s like a 618 toon just trying to get that last slot filled with a hero track. Longer if you are going in on a fresh 80.

Most people were more than happy to acknowledge that the reward range could do with a bit of a difficulty bump so I think we all did bro.

My argument was that either the reward needed lowering slightly or the difficulty raised and was totally trashed on for it.

You were trashed on by some people. I generally was in agreement that some difficulty could be added without ruining them. I think they are still lowering the difficulty on 9-11 so people will still end up having easier access to gilded crests in the long term.

we dont know yet what difficulty that is
is it damage or just numbers added to hp pools or maybe better aoe / cone abilities to dodge

I’m pretty sure this just means increasing from Season 1 difficulty to Season 2 difficulty to match the increase in rewards. Doing an S2 T8 at 639 will feel the same as doing an S1 T8 at 600.

they indeed are lowering the diff of 9-11 to make it challenge for delvers instead of M+ ers

This is from like 6 days ago so I don’t know if they have taken a step back on this plan or not. The intent seems to be to increase difficulty up to 8s and decrease it in 9-11.

Delves werent really a challenge for m+s players in general so I dont think so.
I dont think they would say 4+ being harder just to reduce it at 9-11 but anything is possible
I don’t think Blizzard clearly conveys their changes and expectations at all so I think it very well could be that they are increasing the difficulty within the ilvl/gear reward range while addressing their dumb minibosses in 9-11.
They were never intended to be. Which is why I expect them to lower the difficulty in the “challenge” range so that it appropriately challenges the target audience rather than boxing them out while increasing the difficulty within the reward range so that it appropriately challenges the target audience.

Delves were intended to be a challenge for solo players. making things easier doesnt really fit the mold of “challenge mode”
They just made M+ 30% easier. Probably would have been fine to leave delves alone at this point.
Delves were pretty simple
No doubt but now pugging an 8 will be just as simple.
Delves werent even close to a Mplus 8 level of difficulty
